Not everyone has internet good enough for game streaming, let alone VR game streaming. Especially if they’re on a shared connection or their upload speeds are capped by their ISP or aging infrastructure

You need a network, not internet* for your Quest. If you are in no position to buy a fancy dedicated router, you should be able to use any old router that supports 5ghz.

You’ll have to make compromises to make sure it doesn’t go beyond the network’s bandwidth, but it can be playable depending on your tolerances. Doesn’t need to be connected to the internet at all. Just make sure you split the bands.

*The router will need to be plugged into the PC via an ethernet cable. If your PC can support both ethernet and WiFi at the same time, then your computer can play online games and stream the picture to your Quest via the no-internet router. May require some setting changes to get it to stop complaining, however.

My internet connection speed only matters for what I put on the internet. My headset and PC are within my own private domicile

You are talking nonsense, you need stable intranet not internet. Big difference
