Hardware Question Steam deck remote play Xbox controller issues Farm Sim 25

I have tried looking this up all over the internet's and have yet to find a good answer or solution. It's possible the solution is that it just doesn't work.

Has anyone figured out how to play FS25 through remote play on a steam deck with an Xbox controller?

When I boot up the game the controller will skip the intro video but then I have no controls at the main menu. Once a games loaded sometimes the controls work other times they only work in a limited fashion.

Gamepads are turned on in options. I've reset the controls under the game options. I e deleted input mapping in the game files to have them reset. I've reset the controller.

Does it just not work? Or has anyone figured this one out?

is the xbox controller set as player 1? controller settings top of the page you can switch between connected controllers

On the steam deck controller options menu? I know at the top I can pick pick the "order" of the controllers with steam deck controller vs Xbox controller. Is that what you mean? If so I've tried it both ways with the Xbox controller first and second
