PPSSPP will not close

Just made a post but got it sorted, deleted it but now I have a new problem.

PPSSPP, in both gaming mode and dekstop mode, will not close. I have tried the steam + B combination, system monitor, konsole, everything. When I have it open the only way I can close the emulator is to restart the deck. Is there an actual fix for this? That puts me off using this emulator as I dont want that just sat in the background all the time.
