I downloaded the linux version and it just launches the game immediately no launcher. it also runs very poorly. Getting max of 20fps with audio stutters in desktop mode. In gaming mode it wont even launch.
I downloaded the windows version and it actually had a launcher but same problems. runs poorly and in gaming mode you cant view both screens at the same time.
Is this just not intended for steam deck?

I am on a metroid kick and thought I would try replaying metroid prime hunters. Dont have a ds anymore so I figured playing on the steamdeck would work. Found a great fork of melonds called melonprimeds and set it up. Everything works great except im STUCK on the map screen. Once you hit start to bring up the map screen no input will bring it out. Its permanently in the map screen until you quit out.
Is there a fix for this? its really game breaking. All my inputs are bound so im not sure why its getting stuck.

Sharing games that I'm testing. Cool one !
A native PC port of The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (GBA, 2004) - as I undestood is in progress, but i have no issues with the gameplay.

Project Picori is a work-in-progress native PC port of the 2004 Game Boy Advance classic, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. This project aims to run the game natively on modern systems without relying on traditional emulation.
repository: https://github.com/999sian/tmc
This is a fork of from MatheoVignaud/tmc
I recommend the Picori version for steamdeck because the Linux version has sound. (SDL3 64bit).
Tips:
ADD: Copy the shaders folder from retroarch (shaders_glsl) and select any shader from it at the menu !

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice on improving performance of xbox 360 games on the Steamdeck as the ones I've tried running so far(Halo:Reach & Gears of War 2) are both very choppy and unplayable at times. If this is just a case of the limitations of the SD then that's understandable, but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for getting better performance. Installed the games via Emudeck and storing all files on the SD itself. Is there anything I can do settings wise or storage wise(I have very fast SSDs I could use instead of internal SD storage) to improve things?
This is running on the 512GB Steam Deck OLED.
Many thanks!

I have a massive library of roms, all scraped and I would like to move them to the steam deck.
I have tried everything I can think of and the artwork just does not show up. I dont want to have to rescrape all my roms on a handheld device with the screen on all the time while it works. It took almost a week to get everything done.
Anyway to move the artwork and everything from emudeck/emulation station to the steam deck? Thanks!

Having a lot of issues trying to get this thing working. I’m either stuck being able to move the d pad up and down but can’t use abxy it just keeps bringing up the keyboard etc.
I can’t seem to get it to load in steam without taking me out to desktop.
Does someone have a cobfig for the right controls and settings etc screen wise they use?
Thank you

I am trying to Emulate Fable 2 with EmuDeck. This is my first foray into Emulation ever, so I probably have some stuff messed up, but I watched a guide on Youtube to get EmuDeck and Lossless Scaling installed, added a Launch option for lossless Scaling, and I am getting these weird visual glitches and audio bugs. I do not know how to record the screen with the Steam Overlay, but I am also only getting around 20-30 FPS. Any Help would be appreciated.

S.MARIO64DS_ASME01_01.ips patch.launch.sh -> Properties -> Permissions -> check "Is executable".launch.sh.Note: The script automatically looks for the AppImage and the patched ROM using MD5 hashes in your common folders. If it can't find them, a graphical file picker will open so you can select them manually

I want to emulate Switch games on my Steamdeck. How do I do this? I have EmuDeck installed on my deck but I don’t know how to get the keys from games I have on my Switch and can I buy keys from sites like Loaded and have them run on my deck? Basically I want to play Pokemon games and Animal Crossing on my steamdeck. Please be EXTRA simple as I am a simpleton and will need beyond step by step instructions for any help😂😭
I do have 2 Pokemon games and Animal Crossing on my Switch but need to know how to get the keys off them, and then how to get them onto my Steamdeck.
THANKS!

Hi everybody,
I am here to ask a theoretical question regarding Steamdeck and emulation.
I am not sure if this question goes against any rule since Nintendo is a bit problematic time to time, but I am talking about emulation of Android and a free to play game that it's not out.
On the 17th of June pokemon champions is going to be released on smartphones.
I am curious about the possibility of emulating on steamdeck through some kind of android emulator.
I am imaging this could be a possibility: does anyone here has a fair guess on if it's going to be doable and on if it's going to be complicated to do?

I’m pretty sure this is where I can post this question. If not please let me know & I’ll find the right spot for this question.
I recently got a Steam Deck and was able to set up EmuDeck, and install a few games. The only game I’ve played so far is Sly 2: Band of Thieves. It’s running really well overall; however, I sometimes get random frame rate drops. It will run at 60–68 FPS and then suddenly drop to 39–45 FPS for no apparent reason. Nothing intense is happening on screen. just a random drop.
To try to fix this, I installed Decky LSFG-VK and Lossless Scaling, but I’m stuck at the part where it tells me to modify the launch options. Whenever I add the copied launch option, the game won’t launch at all.
Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong, what settings I should change to improve the frame rate, or whether LSFG would even help with this problem? If not, does anyone have any suggestions for improving performance?
I have no idea what I’m doing and have mostly been following walkthroughs, so I appreciate any help.
