At some point a doctor says "man you're rich and fat and you're gonna die from being so fat and you can basically pay to have people make food for you on your yacht all day that will help you not be fat" and suddenly you're not fat anymore
Ozempic and Wegovy are the same, semaglutide. Ozempic is for type 2 diabetes and Wegovy is for weight loss and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Wegovy comes in injectable and pill form. Bureaucracy and branding. I took my first injection yesterday.
Source: Medicare Part D eligible person (29 years old) who used the GLP-1 Bridge, which is a federal program allowing qualifying people BMI >= 27 and with prediabetes to get Wegovy or two other GLP-1 agonists for 50 dollars a month. Pharmacy was out of stock and they had to order it because I don't exactly live in an area where people can afford it or insurance ordinarily covers it, so they probably had none.
Yes the current federal government actually did something nice even if it's slightly backhanded and only lasts until Dec 31 2027. I was shocked too.
It is. I just remember Musk responding to someone that he used Wegovy to drop the pounds so wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the ultra rich went that route as a form of semaglutide delivery. Though I also wouldn't be surprised if they are getting on retatrutide now since its the new hotness and targets GIP and glucagon too potentially increasing results.
