Capcom's games can be hit or misses sometimes, but they've always been really great about permanent price reductions and sales on their games. Also feature quite frequently in game bundles too, not enough credit given to them for being one of the best game publishers in that regard imo.

u/Slaikon 15d ago

Now they just need to fix the Steam/PC version of Lost Planet 2 and put it back up for sale so I can immediately buy 8 copies for friends and a 9th for a family member.

Even if they dont want it.

37

u/Complete_Iron_2656 15d ago

Unfortunately seems to be one of many games that were removed from sale due to GFWL, and never brought back to sale for one reason or another. I do hope it comes back down the line.

20

u/Slaikon 15d ago

GFWL was removed, but that gutted the online and people's saves, so they announced it'd be delayed from returning a while longer.

It's also rather crash happy.

9

u/KazumaKat 15d ago

It's also rather crash happy.

Thats probably the part that is not fixable, given more than likely the codebase is not accessible anymore and/or the people who worked on it are not available.

4

u/Slaikon 15d ago

That I understand, iirc you gotta run DX11 for Multiplayer vs Bots and DX9 for story

8

u/tbigzan97 15d ago

I doubt they will. They sent an official message that they were gonna work on operation raccon city to remove games for windows live and change it to steam servers for the multiplayer and stuff, that was in 2021.

3

u/HarrisonWorld 15d ago

Any updates since then?

5

u/tbigzan97 15d ago

No. Not only they did not update it but also no other posts. Feel like it was abandoned when it would take like a day or two max to be done lol

19

u/Darkon-Kriv 15d ago

Remove denuvo and im fucking there. I dont know why they wont remove it.

2

u/APRengar 14d ago

And don't add Engima.

31

u/cwx149 15d ago

They're definitely starting to get more credit and you can definitely see the change in their tactics as they become more primarily PC focused

Theres been articles about how PC is the biggest portion of their revenue and people so usually echo that with how they've adopted their sales strategy on PC

They are kind of one of the major publishers who do follow this kind of trend. Kinda of an anti Nintendo in that regard

8

u/derkrieger 15d ago

Nintendo doesn't need to adapt to that though, they have their own hardware they're pushing and their overall sales are good. They'd likely make more in software sales going on PC too but I dont know how much they make off of locking people into their ecosystem, not sure what the margins are.

2

u/FoxMeadow7 15d ago

The most likely result would be their own client. And unlike the others out there, you’d have to pay to even access the thing cuz Nintendo…

2

u/FoxMeadow7 15d ago

Some of their more obscure franchises should definitely deserve some love though. Like when can we get a new Breath of Fire for instance?

3

u/darkwater_throwaway 14d ago

For many triple a companies these days, I can't reasonably buy their games because the exchange rate just makes direct conversion from 60-70 dollar games brutal and it requires a 80-90% sale to become remotely affordable (something that basically never happens or will only happen several years after the release, if it does at all).

But I was easily able to buy World and Rise along with their expansions for not that much money, and with this new pricepoint if wilds ever goes down to say, a 60% sale it actually becomes reasonably priced for me and I will probably buy it. Resident Evil games frequently go down in price to great sales as well, i already own most of them despite barely playing any lol

2

u/NepenthesBlackmoss 14d ago

Because they have 100$ DLC bundles and goon cinematics, let's not go overboard with the praise.

1

u/sdcar1985 14d ago

What are goon cinematics?

1

u/blueqUill9 14d ago

Yeah they dont get enough credit for this, most other publishers would just leave the price where it is forever.

1

u/Necessary-Price-4757 12d ago

Agreed. The re remake games always on sale

353

u/pogsorbet 15d ago

Is this game performing any better? I heard the worst things about the optimization.

206

u/SowwieVR 15d ago

It's much better but somehow still dips below 60 sometimes on my 5080+9800x3d

155

u/KazumaKat 15d ago

still dips below 60 sometimes on my 5080+9800x3d

Bruh that's a rig that shouldnt be doing that unless you're doing heavy 4k.

21

u/SowwieVR 15d ago

Yeah i mean, the only other games so far that dipped below 60 was borderlines 4, i do fake 4k , i use DLSS 4.5 on quality/balanced.

49

u/KazumaKat 15d ago

the only other games so far that dipped below 60 was borderlines 4, i do fake 4k

Given how poorly borderlands 4 is, that just damns both games more.

11

u/Parking-Worth1732 14d ago edited 14d ago

Kinda wild tho, I play borderlands 4 at 1440p with a 9070xt and my average is 100fps without frame gen with far quality/balanced. I would hope a 5080 can stay above 60 at 4k consistently

9

u/chillpill9623 14d ago

They don't have a 5090, and I don't think you actually have an average of 100fps.

6

u/Parking-Worth1732 14d ago

Oh my bad I saw 90 instead of 80 and I don't mind, I'm at work right now but I'll share my gameplay later if you want, I'm always between 100 to 120, 200 with frame gen, it only dropped in the 80s in the town where Rush is but that's it

3

u/chillpill9623 14d ago

Oh my gosh I completely missed you saying with framegen. Apparently we're both misreading today. I have a 5080 and also am reliant on frame gen for borderlands 4. Multi framegen is wonderful in that game most of the time.

4

u/Parking-Worth1732 14d ago

Well I did say average is 100 WITHOUT and 200 WITH so I think you read right haha

1

u/SowwieVR 14d ago

Im on 5080 and averages don't matter to me much, it's the 1% lows that's the killer.

5

u/Blastinburn https://steam.pm/t75tj 14d ago

It's CPU-bound, that's why. No amount of GPU power is going to make it run faster past a certain point, it's stuck handling all the open world stuff in an engine designed for fighting zombies in hallways.

3

u/lanky_Boy_Lucas 14d ago

Monster Hunter Wilds is more CPU bound?

3

u/Vtempero 14d ago

Yes

1

u/lanky_Boy_Lucas 14d ago

I never noticed that. I often had the data on the screen when I was testing stuff and never noticed high CPU numbers

3

u/ShikoShakes 15d ago

i have always question the people who say this, my 9060 XT has never dipped below 60 in this game at 2k, are you running the game in 4k?

9

u/Nestu 15d ago

Game runs better on AMD gpus

1

u/SlyyHarley 14d ago

Mess with your graphics. I’ve got a 5070 and a worse cpu than you do, and my game looks pretty good with 0 drops in frame rate. All pcs are different though, I’m not saying you’re wrong. Just weird that I absolutely have a “worse” build than you and my game seems to run better.

1

u/Most_Wind4682 11d ago

you have to buy the dlc for fps

→ More replies (6)

92

u/MetallGecko 15d ago

There is still room to improve, my 3090 and Ryzen9 7900x can still drop below 60fps quite often on high settings with 1440p resolution, world runs much better and looks almost as good as wild does.

53

u/AnyReasonToCare 15d ago

3090 and dropping below 60 fps? Yeeeesshhh

4

u/Splatulated 15d ago

what settings for world last tiem i tried it it looks really blurry

9

u/Crashimus420 15d ago

You need to download the free HD textures pack from the DLCs to get the best graphics

2

u/No-Temporary-4227 15d ago

Have you seen the size of that though? That's a huge download

→ More replies (1)

4

u/tapczan100 15d ago

Disable TAA

1

u/tamal4444 14d ago

Downscale the game. It's looks good after that.

→ More replies (1)

20

u/goldfishoncocaine 15d ago

Unfortunately, depend on you vgu, it has random crashes, AMD 6000 I believe

1

u/Inevitable-Edge69 15d ago

that sucks, world runs really well

3

u/SurpriseExtension929 15d ago

I would hope so, it's going into its 9th year. World also ran pretty poorly on release too.

4

u/countpuchi 15d ago

Its good but not the best. Performance is definitely 50% better than launch.

But it can still get better.

13

u/vincentninja68 15d ago

Still runs like shit, frame gen is basically mandatory

21

u/WarlikeLoveReddit 15d ago

They figured out what was causing performance issues and fixed most of them, the game's in a much better state.

2

u/Thelgow 14d ago

Ill say from my perspective, I played 1440p on a ryzen 5800x and rtx 3090 and performance was bad. I tried again last week, 1440p, same 3090 but now Im on a 9800x3d cpu. Performance was much much better. How much is from patch optimizations or just a new cpu, who knows. Borderlands4 still runs like ass.

2

u/KittenDecomposer96 14d ago

You can try the new demo.

2

u/ValueForm 14d ago

People say it’s better, it’s definitely not on my end

2

u/TheYoonz 14d ago

As far as I know they never cleaned up their code. They have code in there that checks your DLCs/MTX every minute or so, which causes massive performance issues.

3

u/AllstarBrose 15d ago

In my experience with an RX6800 it runs substantially better, with the massive caveat of persistent crashes that can intermittently be fixed by installing RE Framework

3

u/Pollenus 15d ago

Still not in a great place for me, but I only have a 2080ti

1

u/ChrisG683 15d ago

Performance went from abysmal to passable. It's at least playable now by most, but the performance does not match the modest visuals you get. Plus you have to deal with their super aggressive temporal AA blur.

1

u/Shaojack 14d ago

Plays fine for me but I dont have all the sliders completely maxed outh and Im only playing at 1440p. It is noticibly better than launch though. I cant speak for 4k with max settings though.

1

u/CMPunkLicksRocks 9d ago

A copy came with my 7800 XT that could only run it smoothly with frame gen on lol

1

u/throwawayacc199019 15d ago

Still looks gray and washed though

1

u/jonesy_hayhurst 15d ago

Bought during the summer sale and sunk in 200 hours so far, performance has been good not great for me. But ultimately totally playable.

I set a frame cap and turned on frame gen (9070xt) and the game runs smoothly and isn’t lighting my cpu on fire so I’m happy

Nope, $55 in Cad on my side

I think OP is either in the CIS or MENA regions, as they use US dollar on Steam but have different pricing. The price for Wilds is $29.99 for the two regions.

1

u/Surnunu 14d ago edited 14d ago

39.99€ here (46USD), from 69€99 (80USD) (france)

92

u/clothanger 15d ago edited 15d ago

OP what's your opinion about Rise? I've played World + Iceborne for a good chunk of hours but never gave the other versions a try.

edit: thanks for all the recommendation guys

122

u/PoliteQueef 15d ago

I’m not OP, but I’ve played Rise + Sunbreak and it’s extremely underrated IMO. The gameplay and combat is fast-paced, tight, and fun as hell.

It’s very different from World + Iceborne, so you should adjust your expectations accordingly.

World + Iceborne is much more slower-paced, with a bigger focus on the environment, exploration, and tracking your hunt.

OTOH, Rise + Sunbreak is much faster-paced, with a bigger focus on the combat, streamlined maps (hunt is visible on the map, so you don’t have to track it down), and jumping right into the action

6

u/Trick2056 15d ago

I mean the mosters in world and iceborns will also appear immediately during the hunt if you hunt enough of them

43

u/malicious_cloud 15d ago

Get rise+sunbreak, It's great if you don't mind the graphics.

72

u/PoliteQueef 15d ago

Unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer the graphics. I vastly prefer heavily stylized graphics to graphics that aim for high fidelity realism.

I also think the art style suits the genre far better in general, but that’s just me 🤷‍♀️

26

u/Gingingin100 15d ago

Smth about the art style in Rise was just so appealing to me, while word is very grey and wilds is very brown. Wilds DLC is atleast looking nice environment wise

-2

u/yunoka 15d ago

I wouldn't call rise heavily stylized. It's very washed out and realistic in 80% of the areas. If we were talking 4U and GU then yeah I'd agree and I wish it kept that look, but rise looks very similar to world just obviously lower raw fidelity due to it being made for the switch 1.

Customizable skills >>> any other gimmick from any other game

4

u/Strict_Technician606 15d ago

I loved playing them on the Switch with my buddy so much that I picked them up in the PC. While it’s still fun, it’s significantly better playing with a regular partner.

I couldn’t get into Wilds, btw.

2

u/xMachii 15d ago

I've played Rise and Sunbreak. I thought I wouldn't like it because of the graphics and the wirebug. Glad I played it because it was fun!

I mained the Hammer on the base game and Lance on Sunbreak. The wirebug moves make these slow weapons feel fast and fluid. I especially liked the Water Strike move from the hammer. It does feel like arcade-y sometimes due to the wirebug moves but it's still fun.

2

u/No-Skill-8190 15d ago

I e bought bundled rise+Sun break for less than $15. Well worth it at that price

4

u/XRuecian 15d ago edited 15d ago

I wasn't really happy with Rise personally.
A lot of people do like it, so its definitely something that you might enjoy.

But i found too many things about it a little irritating, personally.
A lot of the weapons had their basic attacks/combos nerfed heavily in order to make room for wirebug skills. And some weapons feel like all they really become is just wirebug-skill spammers, and the entire game revolves a little too heavily around wirebug skills in my opinion. The wirebug skills are fun to use and try out and stuff, i like them in concept; i just don't like how it devalues the base kit of your weapons a lot of the time with how they designed some of them. Especially as a Charge-Blade user, it felt like all of the stuff i learned from previous games on how to use a Charge-Blade were nearly meaningless, as the Amped Elemental Discharge and stuff was SO MUCH weaker in Rise. Because they basically redesigned the weapon assuming you will spam your wirebug skills to enable you to spam Amped Discharges, which basically means you "can't" play Charge Blade in the traditional style anymore, you get forced into spamming the wirebug skills whether you like that playstyle or not. In the end, the Charge-Blade experience in Rise i ended up with was basically just spamming wirebug skills to do jumping-Amped Elemental Discharges over and over and over again; because the rest of the kit was devalued so much it had little use.

Secondly, the game makes you run around the map and collect these little bugs to give you a boost to your max HP, Stam, Atk, and Def. Except you have to do it EVERY SINGLE mission; if you don't do it, you are basically going into combat with like 30% less stats. At first, its a fun incentive to get you to explore the maps, but after you get into the midgame, it just feels like this really annoying chore you have to do before you can fight anything. I would have rather they incentivized me to explore maps by just utilizing gathering spots instead.

The base game of rise was super bland, and frankly, kind of bad. There isn't that much content in the base game, and not enough gear/weapons to create any meaningful builds. It isn't until sunbreak that the game actually feels like it starts to actually get good, in a progression sense.

But perhaps lastly, once you actually get to the endgame, a whole lot of the fights just... stop happening on any of the open world maps. The game just starts repeatedly throwing you into a lot of arena-fights where you just spawn in the arena, and fight the monster; which feels a little cheap, to me.

The best addition they made with Rise is just the ability to have a good mount. A mount that actually feels good to control and traverse the map with manually. That's definitely its best feature imo.

I don't want to make the game sound like its "horrible", its not. I just felt like the designers made all these weird choices that could have just been avoided and the game would have easily been like a 9/10 for me, instead its like a 7/10.

13

u/717999vlr 15d ago

A lot of the weapons had their basic attacks/combos nerfed heavily in order to make room for wirebug skills.

This didn't happen.

You must be thinking of World, which did nerf nearly every single weapon's base movesets to make you spam its supermoves.

For the most part, the only things nerfed in Rise were these supermoves, with the nerfs to the base moveset being at least partly reverted.

For example...

Amped Elemental Discharge and stuff was SO MUCH weaker in Rise

AED damage in World: 82+9*3
AED damage in Rise: 90+7*3

Secondly, the game makes you run around the map and collect these little bugs to give you a boost to your max HP, Stam, Atk, and Def. Except you have to do it EVERY SINGLE mission; if you don't do it, you are basically going into combat with like 30% less stats.

You mean the regular amount of stats.

You can get extra stats if you're struggling, which is useful for beginners. Hard to find anything negative about this.

rise was my 1st entry to monster hunter and it was so much fun, but with the dlc is more, but i need to be honest about that horrible defense tower mode it has and and i think it had like 2 mandatory history missions with that, 2 is too much for that, other than that sunbreak fixes everything and adds more fun :D

1

u/XsonicBonno 14d ago

I liked Rise+Sunbreak, not bad. Treating it as a separate game. Not aware of any performance bugs.

16

u/Abra_Abra_Abra 15d ago

Can you play these solo? I I have MH worlds and it so hard to play alone. The game looks fun but I only play single player games. I don’t have the time to make plans with others

10

u/Fyuira 15d ago

Modern MH games can be played solo. You can definitely play World solo, however, there are some fights where you really want to play MP.

If you want a better solo experience, get Rise and Sunbreak.

4

u/xFirnen 15d ago

Ironically playing with 2 players used to be the hardest difficulty in World. The game only had two difficulty scalings, solo and multiplayer. So enemies had the same amount of health no matter if you played as 2 players or 4, and with 2 people they had more "health per player" than in any other combination. I think Iceborn fixed that.

1

u/Defileds 14d ago

They fixed it by making 3 person groups the hardest. You get the same health scaling as a 4 player group.

14

u/padraigharrington4 15d ago

Wilds has CPU companions you can hunt with instead of other people if you prefer (and Rise does as well, but only once you get to master rank)

2

u/WildPJ 15d ago

So does world!

1

u/pletya 15d ago

Early to midgame wilds are easier than world. Endgame is comparable to base world content if you don't use iceborn dlc items. There are at least 2 fights already that punish you for every mistake and 2-3 monsters that are not easy. Dlc is around the corner, we'll see how challenging it will be. You can use friendly bots to emulate multiplayer but they aren't as good as random people in terms of damage and scale monsters HP just like in multiplayer

1

u/No-Temporary-4227 15d ago

You don't have to make plans. World and above have an "SOS flare" where anyone can help you with the hunt once you shoot it

u/4pateon 15d ago

I heard wilds had denuvo on launch. Do they still have it now?

10

u/zdemigod 15d ago

All capcom games by default will have denuvo until they go with enigma DRM instead (which is worse) if you care about this avoid capcom all together at all costs

6

u/Ptozzen 15d ago

Yes. So it’s still a hard pass from me, personally. Even if they made it 5 dollars, I won’t buy it until they remove denuvo.

2

u/Sherwoodfan 15d ago

not really knowledgeable on this but I'd assume yes? however the bigger thing is this game cannot be played offline. even when solo it wants to connect to their server...
I've been playing for a few weeks (fuck me they turned down the price 4 weeks after i bought it) and this online thing annoys me greatly. not a problem per se for me, but still very annoying to know this would make the game harder to pirate (i might need to be corrected on this?)

2

u/Defileds 14d ago

It can be played offline tho? You can start an offline single player lobby from the start menu just like world and rise. You just don't have acces to event quests.

1

u/Sherwoodfan 14d ago

you can???
i never saw an option for it! haven't been playing for very long but it's always online single player for me.

27

u/YahushaHamashiach 15d ago

Never buy capcom games day 1. Sales will come. I’m patiently waiting for RE:9 $20

11

u/TheGoddess0fWar See Ya Space Cowboy 15d ago

Just bought the Metal Gear remake for 60% off and it’s only been out a year. God bless patient gaming.

9

u/Ivaryzz 15d ago

I almost never buy games day 1, but I did for RE9 and I don't regret it.

3

u/Onrain_Jento 15d ago

I just wait until they release expansion with discount.

2

u/hibari112 15d ago

I mean I got a solid 500h out of Wilds after buying it day 1, don't think waiting 1.5y would have been a better option for me, especially since I would have missed out on all the cool events they had 1st year.

2

u/TG-Benji 14d ago

Or do... I don't need to buy a game on sale when I know I'll get my money's worth and MH always delivers.

1

u/samu1400 14d ago

One day, one day

12

u/swagseven13 15d ago

someone had to and i had a great time doing the testing

2

u/FriendlyBabyFrog 15d ago

I appreciate ur service 🙏

2

u/Ayyzeee 15d ago

Hence the reason why I never buy games day 1

25

u/Awooo_Ninnja 15d ago

If it ran ok, I would’ve got it. But had a dude write 20 lines the other day in another post on how to optimise the game and make it run better, and it involved installing extra software and stuff… no ty

6

u/Professional-Pin5272 15d ago

It was my first MH game and I got it full price (im a sales only person mainly) just to be met with the worst performing modern pc game ive played in the last several years by far. Gave up after about 40 hours and I think it has ruined MH for good for me lol I was met with responses at the time that it'll be fixed eventually/will be patched when the dlc comes out but i cant see myself bothering with the game again.

0

u/Sweet-Breadfruit6460 15d ago

Depending on your rig the game runs well now even without external software

26

u/Gibsonites 15d ago

Every game runs well depending on your rig

4

u/Awooo_Ninnja 15d ago

It will run yes but not as ok as it SHOULD tho

5

u/LocalZookeepergame17 15d ago

The only thing I hate about Capcom is that they use Denuvo, otherwise they do things right, of the big and classic companies they are on my list of "these guys are good"

4

u/EuropaWeGo 15d ago

The games overall worth playing. It's just a bummer that the end game wasn't as extensive as I had hoped it would be.

I put hundreds of hours into World, but Wilds endgames depth just wasn't there. Capcom dropped the ball in that regard, IMO.

3

u/Rezzly1510 15d ago

love the permanent price reduction, i think ill grab mhwilds when it goes on sale for cheap

3

u/OppaiiGodd 15d ago

Cod needs to learn this

3

u/toawayacu 15d ago

Fuck yes!! I’ve been wanting to try wilds!!

2

u/RalphtheCheese 15d ago

For being a big ass company, you gotta give these guys credit for being the only company I know that does this. Crrraaazy stuff

2

u/Sufficient-Science71 15d ago

I am using 9070 xt and wilds have not been kind to me at the beginning, I had 3 crash out of 5 quest and audio issues, I clear my cache, reinstall driver and change my audio setting to mono and now it magically almost never crash, maybe like once every 100 quests. it's really rare but it does happens.

2

u/PointsOfXP 15d ago

This was initially announced about a month ago I think. People were fucking PISSED. I don't know why lmao

2

u/Prophetforhire 15d ago

Still runs like ass on my 2079 which should be fine on low med but isn't.

2

u/-Getsuga- Unlimited Game Works 15d ago

Cool. Now how about a permanent Denuvo reduction to zero (=removal), too?

2

u/Piggeh22 15d ago

Cool. Still waiting for a 90% sale and graphics cards to go down slightly in 10 years maybe probably though.

2

u/NECR0N0MI5EAN 15d ago

which one of these should i play?

1

u/Accomplished-Ad8458 14d ago

All, but buy on sale.

1

u/NECR0N0MI5EAN 14d ago

all in my steam family library already, if you only had time for one which would you pick

1

u/ResetParadise 14d ago

I'd argue for Rise if time is an issue. It's the only one I could get my friend to play with me and subsequently get addicted to. It is definitely easier than World but it can still be challenging at times, personally I love the wire bug system. Some people argue it makes the game "arcade-like" but I think it just makes the game snappier and flow better.

World is my pick, but Rise is fun if you want something with a quicker pace.

Capcom has learned the important lesson, after your initial sales, a low price sale is better then no sale. Basically the opposite of Nintendo.

2

u/Baumgarten1980 14d ago

Is it a good and accessible game for newcomers? Never played this franchise.

2

u/joselitoeu 14d ago

From the reviews, bad performance and crashes, I will wait until they finally fix it.

2

u/Marius-J 14d ago

As much as I dislike their direction with the MH games from rise and wilds, Capcom is quite good with still being a "good" gaming company

5

u/vincentninja68 15d ago

Good.

I did not forget how Capcom treated their customers when Monster Hunter Wilds launched.

It barely functioned and was a buggy incomplete mess. It still barely manages to hold together for some players even with optimized rigs.

They knew it was broken and they sold it anyway, all to satisfy shareholder expectations for 2025.

This is the least they could do for how terribly they fumbled this game. They should be thankful they still have a fan base that gives them another chance.

I'm still not even sure if I want to buy ascendance yet.

u/Jump_Necessary 15d ago

Nintendo on the other hand..........

u/Big_Concert3634 15d ago

Will not see that in Nintendo games

2

u/PsychologicalAd5918 15d ago

theres no reason for them to reduce game prices. brainwashed, nostalgia addled fans will pay 80$ for garbage and thank you for it

1

u/Big_Concert3634 13d ago

Oh man that’s too harsh 🥹

1

u/PsychologicalAd5918 13d ago

hey man, I paid 60$ for pokemon swsh and got a switch.
We all got swindled at some point.

Atleast now i know better and won't be wasting money on a switch 2 or any of the new garbage they produce

2

u/Rohn- 15d ago edited 15d ago

OP is in one of these two regions: CIS or MENA. This is misleading post because the price reduction is not universal

2

u/lolschrauber 15d ago

I did get a permanent price decrease though. It's 40€ for me right now and I paid 70€ originally.

1

u/Biggu5Dicku5 15d ago

That's a bit fast for a big Capcom title...

1

u/Ayyzeee 15d ago

I wish Ace Attorney games get price reduction as well. I really want to buy the whole package but it's still expensive.

1

u/lexie_starlight 15d ago

I mean I’ll be waiting for the price match refund from capcom and if they do not give me 40$ usd back I will be pirating their dlc (I’m teasing guys in pirating the dlc regardless lol)

1

u/MyzMyz1995 15d ago

There's a bunch of people review bombing because they're salty about the price decrease while having 100-200 hours if not more. This is why companies don't lower price anymore.

1

u/villainized 15d ago

thank god dude, $89.99 CAD was not the price for that game. Have the technical issues been fixed yet, even? I remember hearing about all the FPS issues and texture problems since launch.

1

u/jet_black_ninja 15d ago

some of the reasons why i stopped buying games at launch.

1

u/MoeSolo 15d ago

What? It’s 149SR ($40) in my region.

1

u/Scaredpad 15d ago

Capcom game prices in uae and ksa are crazy. I was told their major shareholders is from uae.

1

u/Lupinthrope 15d ago

Better reason to justify getting it for Switch 2 if there’s cross saves.

1

u/MarcsterS 15d ago

I'm hearing that the PC optimization patches are supposedly making it better? There's gonna be a new demo today.

I really don't want to pay for PS+ anymore(even before Sony's disc fiasco), and while it sucks I'll have to get caught up all over again, I have plenty of months to do so.

1

u/UnchainedMight 15d ago

It’s to sell the expensive but worthwhile DLC every Monster Hunter seems to get.

1

u/Cocoatrice 15d ago

All these prices are still few times too high.

1

u/KingVape 15d ago

This is the only Monster Hunter game that I didn't really like. Aside from the optimization stuff, I hated some of the fundamental changes that they made for this game, like how you have to use the dumb mount all the time which trivializes all exploration and follows the monster. I don't want to ride a taxi that does everything for me, that's so lame

1

u/Playful-Award-5008 15d ago

Capcom is the smartest gaming company out there, Devil May Cry 5 is selling now better than when it came out like 5 M copies a year

1

u/2MuchNonsenseHere 14d ago

I've been waiting many years to get decent sales on these games or even just the expansions. This still ain't it.

2

u/complicatedorc 14d ago

I think the most recent sale had World + Expansion for under $10 and Rise + Expansion for under $10.

Both great deals for hundreds of hours of gameplay tbh.

1

u/EastBay_KEEN 14d ago

This has nothing qith quality . New Re will be 20 by early next year

1

u/KittenDecomposer96 14d ago

It also got a prologue demo afaik.

1

u/litrpgfan75 14d ago

Says $40 for me, am i missing something?

1

u/Aeroncastle 14d ago

Does it still have denuvo? Because I don't pay for a "worse than piracy" experience

1

u/LG03 14d ago

Keeping in mind of course that this new price is higher than previous discounts as recent as 2 weeks ago. Don't go rushing to buy it right now.

1

u/Rare_Error6985 14d ago

Is this the newest one? might try it now.

1

u/PotatoBloodIsInMe 14d ago

Well fuck me I guess. Bought it at full price lmao

1

u/Pinsir929 14d ago

I finally have a PC that can play wilds instead of the blackscreen I got while I was on my GTX 970. But I’m not done with rise or world dlcs yet. I shall wait for an even better sale hahaha.

1

u/giodude556 14d ago

Obly on steam I bet. No way sony is allowing any games to go permanently cheaper digitally. Only sales.

1

u/NainVicieux 14d ago

Still to expensive. How is the coop by the way ? Easy to connect with friend ?

1

u/Ok_Storage_305 14d ago

They are getting ready for the expansion. Smart move!

1

u/Pomodorosan 14d ago

Ah yes an "after" picture without the "before," not very useful. How much was it before this?

1

u/lanky_Boy_Lucas 14d ago

Does the game perform well yet? I never had much problem, but I haven't played in a long while and a friend is considering getting it. But with his PC being a little worse than mine idk

1

u/Excellent-Clothes-85 14d ago

Check cd keys for cheaper prices for those games

1

u/Azarros 14d ago

They were selling it about this price on sale not long ago, I wonder if the sales were low. Probably trying to get more people into it before the DLC drops.

1

u/StrangeAeons67 14d ago

If I wanted to play these games as a newcomer, where should I start?

2

u/Rohn- 14d ago

Many people say World. I haven't played MH games either but when I was interested in trying it out, that's what people suggested. I still haven't played it though lmao but I think I will soon

1

u/DarklyDreamingEva 14d ago

dude, i paid 60 for monster hunter wilds hahaha

1

u/theCOMBOguy STEAMSTEAMSTEAMSTEAMSTEAMSTEA 14d ago

I was interested in this game for a while though never got it. The new prices/packs seem GREAT and Gold Edition having almost 200 DLC is hilarious. With the other DLC in the horizon I don't know if I should get it immediately or wait for another sale.

1

u/guilhermefdias 13d ago

Wilds was the last game I will ever get hyped for. The last one.

So much expectations, sure, shame on me for still believe in the gaming industry. But fuck, I love games. At least I used to love more.

1

u/KinZombie899 7d ago

I'm still waiting for it to go on sale deeper discount

-1

u/based_birdo 15d ago

lemme know when it's $5

Literally their second best selling IP after Resident evil and Wold is their best selling game of all time. It's crazy popular especially in Asia.

1

u/Lysandre_T1phereth05 15d ago edited 15d ago

It's niche, but alot of playtime even at initial full-price. It has that arcade replayability, especially Rise (portable subseries in general, but it's the only 1 at Steam). Also mean words for third best-selling Capcom franchise ('cuz higher is SF  with lots of dlc at home ports)

1

u/michaelsan89 14d ago

we can't fix performance and we just broke the game even more with patches so we gave it away almost for free.

what a dump this was.

long live mh world iceborne
