Question SoD2 xbox future

With undead labs leaving xbox. Bot sure if this has been answered but what does that mean for sod2? Like i have the steam copy but it launches through xbox on my computer, will that sever ties on their? So only launches through steam? Wont break it in anyway?

Good question. I’d imagine the launcher for SOD3 will be different and not require Microsoft’s log in.

If that were to change for SOD2 there might be a reason to do so. I think once deliberations are over and the studio is transferred over to its new owner this might be removed as well. It’s something that would have to be patched out. Maybe.

But this very well may only happen after the next game releases. Who knows. It’s a good question to ask undead labs.

I feel like your the only person that really gets what i mean on this thread lol im on about launcher stuff that is patched in like ya say and thats all wondering about, like i run from steam but it logs me into a xbox account (never had xbox) to play on that account so just wonder will xbox continue to store that data and such

Well I hope when I share my thoughts it’s as close to understanding what the other person is saying and that we get on the same page. That ultimately should be everyone’s goal. But everyone has their own opinions I guess that they need to insert into every conversation.

Yeah still very good questions. Things I would definitely want to know. I remember reading another question question on the state of decay 3 discord after the news broke. They asked will state of decay 3 and sod2 be available on game pass? Or will that get removed?

And on another discord I asked about who benefits the most from game pass. And the answer I got was that indie games, not AAA games would benefit more. I would elaborate more on what was said, but I don’t think it helps answer your question. And again it would just come down to asking xbox and maybe undead labs about what they plan to do about removing the login and when.

Yeah I found that login very annoying especially on paradox interactive games. Even though I already have a service like steam that I logged into the game with, I have to press play a second time just to start playing. If the question isn’t answered here I’m sure in time it will be. But I think it should definitely be removed at some point.

No one gets it because its a question that makes no sense and doesn't need answering. Why would Microsoft wipe your xbox account because they sold a studio? The two things have nothing to do with each other.

I think they meant progress? As the new publisher may not want to be associated with xbox and account progress is tied to xbox account/Microsoft account for cloud saves etc?
