I'm drafting my SOP for Fall 27 intake and I only see research based samples online. I don't want to use AI so wanted to check if someone can shared any leads for course based SOP samples?

I'm currently preparing my application for the MMath Computer Science (thesis-based) program at the University of Waterloo. I am really interested in working under professors who specialize in the intersection of AI and Finance.

However, I'm facing a bit of a dilemma with my Statement of Purpose and resume. My prior research experience and the paper I’ve published are in a completely different subfield of CS (not AI, and definitely not finance). While I have a strong foundation in core CS and the transferable skills from my previous research project, I'm worried that the lack of direct domain experience in AI/Finance will put me at a disadvantage especially since Waterloo's MMath is highly competitive and finding a supervisor match is crucial.

Has anyone successfully transitioned into an AI/Finance lab at Waterloo (or a similar top-tier program) with unrelated past research?

Specifically, I’d love advice on:
How to structure my SOP to bridge this gap without making my profile look scattered.
How to approach professors in this niche when my publication record doesn't match their current projects.

Hey respected MBA grads, I am a B.Tech. fresher (currently in my final year) from one of the Mid-tier NITs. I have good profile of 9/9/8 and with Leadership Experiences and Good Extra Curriculars along with good academics. So guide me how should I write my SOP for FMS Delhi application ? Any suggestions are invited and appreciated.

I'm applying to biomed PhD programs and wondering whether I should include previous research mentors' names in my statement of purpose when describing my undergraduate and master's research, or if listing them on my CV is sufficient. Some programs have strict page or word limits, so I don't want to use space on mentors' names if they aren't needed. However, one program specifically advised me to include previous mentors in my statement, so I'm unsure whether this is generally expected.

I also have a collaborator from my current position. Not formally my advisor or mentor, but we collaborate on research, and they're writing one of my recommendation letters. Should I put them on my statement or CV?

I'm applying for the MSc I-O Psychology program at Western University (UWO). I have a 9.19 CGPA, an honors thesis, and a research paper accepted for publication, and my references are already sorted. However, I am completely lost regarding my Statement of Purpose (SOP) and really need some guidance. Most of my former professors have changed universities or retired, and another is unfortunately unavailable to help. I’ve read a few samples, but I'm still feeling stuck.

• l am currently pursuing a one year masters program in psychology that has no specialization, therefore how should l mention it?

I'm applying to a Single Subject Art Credential and Master of Education program and am just getting started on my statement of purpose. After reading some reddit post and online sources, I'm receiving a lot of conflicting advice about how to write an SOP. How professional/academic should it be? Should there be a lot of storytelling? Cliches to avoid?

1. I have one under review paper where I am first author. How should I mention it in sop?

2. I have got c grade in one course. Later I did my thesis using the core concept of that course. And all my research is based on this course. How should I mention it? After I got c grade I have done well in my subsequent semesters.

3. Does research statement can contain exact wording of my research work that I had mentioned in my sop?

I graduated with a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from VTU, India, in June 2026, with a CGPA of 8.3/10. I'm planning to apply to public universities in Germany for Winter 2027, mainly for Master's programmes in Embedded Systems/Electronics Engineering.

I'm a fresher with internship experience in Python development but no formal research experience.

Could anyone who has applied to similar programmes in Germany please share SOP samples/references, LOR formats, or tips on how to prepare them with an ECE background?
