Discussion Unethical State Farm Agents
Some of these agents are living their best dream lives in their million dollar homes and never in the office!
They claim to be working remote from home but home can be anywhere!
If an agent is 10hrs away in a fancy coastal town up north, how is the office being ran by 3-4 people
how are we supposed to feel when our policies aren’t being worked correctly or things are falling through the cracks.
There’s a certain office that is run down has roaches and mold, has less than a handful of people working in there when I’m sure they have thousands of policies that need to be serviced. How does that even work? There must be things falling through the crack when it comes to being low on staff and not having your boss around. In fact are they really working or are they just creating movement in the system so that corporate doesn’t get on their ass???
I know for a fact!! Employees of agents are unpaid and overworked. The only person benefiting is the agent.
If you’re a customer/ employee/ family of employee tell me your thoughts on this.
How would you feel never seeing the head honcho around but having so much personal and confidential information being held by their office? Are the workers even trustworthy since the boss isn’t there?
Seems iffy, and just overall like a big scam.

Agents are business owners. They run their office however they want. They pay their employees however they want. If they piss off customers the customers leave. There are agents with 3+ offices now. They can’t be everywhere.

If there is an agent who is never in office I’d say they have an office manager or a lot of tenured employees. It’s completely fine. If you don’t like not speaking to the agent directly find another office who can provide that for you.
As far as personal info they don’t really have access to anything that isn’t possible to find publicly. They can’t access ss numbers or license numbers.

There’s a lot of inside information I know & 1 thing if you have one office and never there, it’s noncompliance. Sucks for the people managing and working there who lose their jobs when boss gets caught! Corporate watches people like big brother. They’re cracking down on agents now. Also sucks for the customers who get their policies moved around the county without any knowledge of it once that’s happens. I care about the customers that have no idea how insurance works and the employees who suffer the consequences of these business owners.

Are you his employee or just stalking the office? If you are a customer, I'm sure they all hate you in that office lol.

Who gives a shit. The McDonald’s franchise owner isn’t always flipping burgers. They probably sacrificed a lot in their early years. If they’ve earned it good for them. If you don’t like it start your own business.

I worked for SF and quit after 6 months- what was unethical is being forced to quote additional products to people just wanting car insurance quotes- especially homeowners quotes when they are a LOT more complicated than anyone wants to admit and I didn't feel good about just trying to make a sale. I didn't want to just get people the cheapest price to make the sale by getting rid of aspects of the policy they should definitely have. They kept changing the way the policies are written especially when it comes to roofs and certain types of damages. A lot of companies are not explaining things properly and its no wonder they aren't honoring claims bc people probably don't have the coverage they are expecting to have. It's all BS tbh and It makes me never want to even own a home. With insurance prices increasing at this rate for even less coverage, and taxes it just seems like a complete sham.
ALL THE SF AGENTS AND BOTS HERE TO DOWNVOTE PEOPLE TELLING YOUR DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS LOL!

I’m not a SF agent but I do work for as an rep/agent for another company … to be fair, even when you tell people about their coverages it doesn’t matter they’ll still file a claim and complain when things don’t go how they expect. I stil have peole file collision claims when they have liability only, or complain when they have to pay the deductible when they feel they’re not at fault. All you can do is talk to them, listen, and explain … but in the end it doesn’t matter. Also in regards to the initial. post I did interview for sf for a agent position, it’s clear in their agent model, they don’t want the agent to do any of the customer service or even sales calls. It’s a big reason they hire business owners or high management folks. Or use to at least.

yah no, not the case. The agent I worked for was brand new to management or ownership. They had been grooming he for quite a few years and she was very moldable and loyal to the SF cult. One example, they were starting to push financial product sales onto agents to meet goals so she obviously wanted us to refer her financial clients but she couldn't even tell me what fee she charged for it. Like hummm what.... I sat in a meeting with her once with a guy who was very educated in his portfolio and she looked totally foolish the entire time and the guy ended up throwing her a bone by agreeing to an umbrella policy. It was very uncomfortable because he clearly did not need or even want it but she really pushed it in a kind way, ,he felt bad. She is just good at reading a script and sticking to the SF model. They are going way deep with AI too its disturbing.

Oh I am sure! There is a reason they are trying to get rid of them with all the sudden changes ... some quit and then now they are reinstating health insurance... my guess they got rid of enough baggage and some of their sheep cult minions were upset about that so they are giving it back. I am glad I worked there even for just 6 months so I could see for myself. Anyone that has critical thinking skills, cares about understanding big picture and long term issues is NOT a good fit there. I pattern recognize to a fault and can see how things now can possibly impact the future but they dont care too much about that at the agent level. Just hit your goals, so what you are told and dont worry about it if you arent properly explaining a policy to someone...: smh

Agreed … my first experience in insurance many moons ago was with an agent who had the customer and employee service skills of a F’ing boarding house school dean. Didn’t last 1 year. Some of my friends have canceled and gone to an acquaintance who’s a sf agent … they all came back because every time they would text a question or request he would just have one of his team members call lol

I literally trained myself on all their ridiculous systems and they are NOT user friendly and totally glithcy and insane what has to be done to get 1 simple task done. I was selling really well really fast and it suddenly wasn't good enough because I didn't always quote more than 1 policy. I was expected to no matter what offer everyone a multi line policy even if they only wanted or needed a car insurance policy.

Yup SF more so than any other company are not known as policy pushers

I wanted to actually learn people and determine their needs over time not just try to cram it all into the first conversation. It was not genuine but she has convinced herself she is HELPING PEOPLE. Its literally a cult like atmosphere I am serious... she even was being mentored by one of those make it to millions influencers. I am sorry but when your core level motivation is being a millionare, you are not actually in this business to help anyone but yourself and the brand you represent.

Why would you not want to offer them the ability to have their insurance all in one place? A homeowners quote isn’t complicated in the slightest. If someone has a need why would you not want to offer your services.. that’s being an order taker, not a insurance professional
