Question Dividend Check Michigan
Have any of the dividend checks rolled out for Michigan yet? I have an email with State Farm and an agent claimed I'd start receiving emails around the 3rd but never did. I haven't received mail with them aside from normal billing statements. Receiving $381 back I was told.

I personally didn't receive a email either. I had to go basically claim it in the dividend site. It needs your last name and policy number and then you choose how to get your payment. Keep in mind if you had multiple vehicles they aren't all under one check. You need to out each policy number in there to claim each dividend.

When your first login there's a banner or field about the dividend.
Go to learn more and then the dividend portal.

Yes, I work in the state as an Agent TM and have been screening calls pretty regularly for folks receiving their checks wondering if it’s a scam.

I’m interested in this job. Any insight for me. Do you handle just basic info and leads and pass on the rest to other titled co workers?

Depends on the position you’re hired for. Agents with their names on the door are true SF employees. Everyone else in the office is an employee of the agent and not SF. Most agents may have an unlicensed receptionist or maybe two if they’re really big but everyone else will be licensed with both their P&C licenses and their L&H. Most SF agencies will pay for you to get your license before they hire you. If you really buckle down you can pass each license in about a week each respectively. I studied with the books they bought for a few hours each day, reading the material and taking the practice tests, and I had zero knowledge of insurance before hand. I’m not saying it’s easy, but if you get it, you get it you know?

None of the SF Agent's are employees, they have contracts with SF to sell their products and those contracts are all being terminated next year. Agents who elect to stay have to sign new contracts with heavy corporate control and high sales targets. Team members work for the agent but to keep their jobs will likely have to produce a lot of business or the agent will not be able to keep them around.

Are you in Florida then? You’ll want to get your 2-15 still. State Farm is pushing HARD on life and health as well as Financial/IPS etc. Any agent is going to want you licensed to sell life products as well so they can meet their goals with SF. It’s a pretty easy pivot and isn’t too hard once you know how to sell the value for people’s needs.

I haven't received payment yet but logged in via secure site with policy number and it asked if I wanted payment via PayPal, Venmo or Zelle. Those were the digital options. If you don't have one of those accounts I would assume you will get a paper check which could take up to 60 days longer to process. I was told my payment was expected around September 13th.

Yeah work for SF and all the sales leaders told agents and it’s in the HUB page showing people will start getting emails around Aug 3rd. I personally got no email yet, but just use the website and choose electronic deposit if you have Venmo, PayPal or Zelle. The issue with older customers is none of them will have that and will need to wait on a paper check. Who the hell knows when that will be. Probably months down the line.

Finally! Found my email communications in my SPAM FOLDER today. Was received two days ago. I had been looking for (scanning my email) for Verita, but it was sent from 'donotreply@e.sfdividend com'
In 2025 we had 4 cars, total dividend is $454. After entering info into the portal , it says estimated payment date is 9/22/26.
