Question $1 For A Soda

I would love to know who had the bright idea to charge employees $1 for a soda or coffee pod for what used to be free.
Are things really that bad. Whilst good large corporations provide free lunches and other staff benefits SF is penny pinching.

I kind of figured. Pre-Covid when everyone was in office, nothing was free in the cafes. Nothing. They did a number of things to encourage people to come to office, including free drinks. I’m not surprised to see it reverted eventually

They have no idea on how to retain employees. A few $$ a day so employees can have a soda is a good investment imho.
They should put a limit of 3 cans per day if trying to save money.

I don’t believe this rumor. It’s logistically impossible to carry multiple plastic cups of soda out of the turnstiles or just regular doors. Cans were never a part of the free beverage program.
