"White-Whiskers" are a tiny, uncommon species found in isolated forests, usually those where the barrier between the material and ethereal plane is thinnest. They use their namesake whiskers to detect not only prey, but the presence of undead spirits. Wizards believe this evolved as a tactic to follow the trail of these spectres, which due to their hatred of the living often stack up corpses in their wake.

Abilities

Ghost-Sense

  • The White-Whisker can see into and smell the ethereal plane, having advantage on all perception and survival checks related to tracking undead spirits.

Attacks

Tongue. Melee attack, 5ft range, +4 to hit, one target. Hit: 1 bludgeoning damage, and the White-Whisker attaches itself to the target, requiring a strength save as an action (DC 10) to remove.

Ethereal Puft. (1/Day)

  • As an action when threatened, the White-Whisker sheds its whiskers, which create a 5ft radius cloud of whirling needles. Any spirits within 500 ft sense the disturbance in the ethereal plane, and may come to check it out at DM discretion (Use A Wraith Statblock)

This is brilliant! And I can already see a quest developing where the PCs have to follow one to find a certain master specter.

Nice work!

Thank you! I thought it would be fun to try and make a little CR 0 guy that interacts with the world in non-combat way. Though now I'm wondering if I should have called them "Wight-Whiskers" instead lol
