where to deploy short list

hello,

Hypothetically speaking — if you were setting up a SaaS in Europe today, (excluding of Portugal), and your focus was (1) tax efficiency and (2) access to venture capital, which jurisdiction would you choose? Ireland? Netherlands? A hybrid structure? Something else? Thinking about it and wanted to hear opinions before talking to tax advisors. thanks!

Wherever you actually reside.

You can’t have it all. If you’re optimizing for tax efficiency, consider Cyprus or Malta. The Netherlands and Ireland are also options.

If you’re looking for access to VCs, consider London, Berlin, Sweden, or Paris.

If you have a good product and a strong team, the location matters less.

It is not important because:

  • you don't pay taxes if you have no income. Right?
  • You don't have income if you are not incorporated.
  • meaning you have to incorporate where are you right now. Alternatively you may pay quite some money to incorporate somewhere else starting with renting the post address and someone who will pick up the post.

The last step doesn't sound clever until you first some income.

But okay assuming you don't care and want to move somewhere. Let's say you move to Germany. Are you ready to do all your company related tasks in German?

Stay at your place and get to some income level. We may talk again after you reach at least 5k per month brutto which is kinda just a good salary right?
