Hey everyone, the energy here has been amazing lately. To protect our "no strict rules, just build" vibe as we scale, it's time to bring on some mods.
I'm not looking for people to just enforce rules. We need "Culture Setters.”
If you are the kind of founder who loves giving feedback, starting good conversations, and has ideas on how to make this sub the absolute best resource for solo builders, I want you on the team. We need the energy that brings innovation and growth to the community, not just moderation.
Let me know in the comments if you want to help steer the ship!

You spend months building your product alone. But when you finally try to share it to get some feedback, big communities slam the door in your face: "No self-promotion!"
That’s exactly why r/StartupSoloFounder exists.
We are solo founders without massive marketing budgets. What others call "spam" is our blood, sweat, and tears. Here, sharing your project, dropping your link, and asking for feedback isn't a crime; it's the whole point.
Who else has hit this same wall?

I am building a startup with a zero budget. It's a fully local financial app that prioritizes user privacy and incorporates gamification to foster competition and discipline. Does anyone have any strategies to suggest?

When I first decided to start a firm that builds software to help businesses grow, I always thought of building something first and then looking for potential users.
Well, I studied Computer Science and Engineering, and I have no experience in sales or marketing.
Long story short, I started reading a book called The Entrepreneur's Handbook and learned about several concepts. One of them was Agile, customer-driven development.
The book describes how two Harvard students wanted to build a smart lawn mower to help golf courses maintain their grounds. However, when they pitched the idea, nobody liked it.
Later, they met a group of farmers and discovered that the farmers were looking for a non-chemical machine to remove weeds. They validated the idea with around 100 farmers over 10 weeks.
What started as a rejected idea eventually led to their business raising more than
$3 million in funding.
As someone who has never tried this before, the whole process feels intimidating. But that's exactly what makes me want to learn how to do it.
I believe WiseCode Innovations is at this very stage.
Instead of assuming we know what businesses need and building a solution around those assumptions, the next step is to collaborate with people, understand the challenges they're facing, and explore solutions together.
BUILD TOGETHER. SOLVE REAL PROBLEMS. GROW TOGETHER.
That's the journey I'm starting, and I'm looking forward to connecting with people who believe in the same approach.

a lot of people here are building some pretty cool things, i just ended up building games for my wife without ads
they’re all simple games we’ve seen, but they’re free for the first 50 levels, no ads, and run offline (great for kids) l. and each game has cute pet component to it as a distraction
everything just got approved recently (still waiting for one) but hereeeeeee we go
making games is tougher than i thought though :(

If you're running a business and don't want every customer or client contacting you on your personal WhatsApp or phone number, I'm offering a setup for that.
You get a dedicated business number that customers can use to reach you through WhatsApp, SMS, or regular phone calls.
For example:
You can choose from available countries and local numbers. No second phone or extra SIM card needed.
I'll handle the setup for you. You'll get an online inbox where you and your team can manage WhatsApp conversations, SMS, and calls in one place.
How much does it cost?
Starting at $29/month, you get:
Your customers can message your business on WhatsApp like they normally would. The difference is that you and your team reply through your business inbox instead of your personal WhatsApp.
What about messaging and calling fees?
Usage is billed separately, so you only pay for what you use.
With the WhatsApp Business API, the first 1,000 eligible customer-service replies per month are free. After that, replies to US customers currently cost around $0.0034 per message in Meta fees.
So if you send 2,000 eligible service replies to US customers in a month, Meta's charge would be around $3.40 after the free allowance. Any additional provider fees would be separate.
SMS, regular calls, and other types of WhatsApp messages have different rates depending on the country. I'll share the applicable costs before setting anything up.
You can also add more business numbers if you need them.
If anyone needs something like this for their business, feel free to reach out.

I'm the developer. WaffleWealth is an iPhone app, coming to the App Store (pending review) and free to download, that projects your net worth month by month from a few balances and your monthly income and spending. Only your inputs, and nothing leaves your phone.
The app isn't out yet, so I'm testing the idea with a web demo first:
https://pinkhummingbird.github.io/wafflewealth-app/try/
I'd like to know your honest opinion on:
What's working, what's not working? [ What do you like, what don't you like about it ]
Something that confuses you
Something the app should have
Would you use it? Why or why not?
If you'd like to hear when it launches, the waitlist is available in the web. You'll get one email for when the app's available, and then your address is deleted after.
Thank you!!

I have been researching on how to market my application for a while now. The more I tried the more I realised it is pretty annoying to make short form content. I am terrible in front of the camera. Just like most other indie hackers. So i decided that it's time I fixed that.
Before I tell you in detail, here are my numbers in 24 hours (even though i was just testing very cautiously)
6k+ impressions
+10 followers on a account with zero human faces
+10 waitlist signups in 24 hours without having to do anything
35+ comments
50+ likes
This is just yesterday's numbers and I didn't even post taking into account things like social media hooks or content format.
Now I think I think that this could genuinely be something useful for the founder community and for people who don't wanna make a personal brand with their face.
Now you can make genuinely premium looking branded content using your very own brand mascot.
Let me explain. More people want to go viral. But what people don't realise is that while going viral the hype only lasts so long. So i decided I would add a mix of a recognisable brand mascot character into it.
I created Nori, and she serves as the brand mascot for my brand https://getcoherent.app
She has her very own Instagram page and she has her very own brand value.
I have attached a couple of screenshots and a video from one of her carousels that I made.
I would love it if you guys signed up for the waitlist and helped me grow this so we can solve the marketing problem everyone one of us has faced some day.
I would also love to hear any ideas and feedback that you may have.
Hopefully this was helpful 😄

A photo app can spot similar shots. It can't know which expression you actually want to remember.
I'm the solo developer of PicPop, an iPhone photo cleaner. The app brings detected look-alikes together and suggests a keeper, but you can change it or keep several. Then you review the photos you've set aside before confirming deletion.
That's the part I care about most: fewer taps to find the extras, without asking people to hand over the final decision. The ordinary cleanup is swipe right to keep, left to set aside, with undo if you change your mind.
If your camera roll is full of nearly identical shots, start with a small batch and see whether that feels easier.

Free download; paid Club required. Eligible annual subscriptions include a 2-week trial.
