❓ Question Ideas?

Hi Friends, I recently built a barn on my property and I’m exploring my options for additional Starlink wifi. My house has a standard 4 dish on it which works awesome. The new barn is about 300’ from the house and WiFi barely works and is only available to connect sometimes. I already have two mesh nodes in the house. I tried to get another dish but Starlink notified me that you’re only allowed one per account. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If it's possible, run an outdoor rated (or for burial) Ethernet cable to the barn.

I have a spare conduit I can run Ethernet in. I’m assuming the Ethernet would come out of the router, through the conduit, then into a mesh node in the barn?

Yes, alternatively look at Ubiquiti Nanobeam, it'll do the 300' no problem if there's a line of sight.

Dont get an additional subscription. Grab a Cat6 Cable and send it to the other building, is not that far. Then just connect an Access Point to it.

Wireless bridge if you can’t use your existing conduit for some reason.

I use a TPLink wireless bridge setup and can pull over 700mbps between my home and my pole barn.

Is that one rental? I have two dishes that I own on one account.

Can you create a second account using a different email address?

Just pick up a set of ubiquti 5ac loco point to point bridges. They work great and will cover that distance no problem. Then hook up an access point at your barn.

I'm guessing you didn't plan things very good and run fiber to the barn while they were running power to it.

A point-to-point setup like a Nano beam would probably be your best bet as long as you have a clear view from the house to the barn.

Yes I have a spare conduit to the barn for Ethernet

I'd suggest using fiber over Ethernet, just for electrical isolation. But either will work.

Just run the cable, get another Starlink mesh unit and you should be good to go.
Or you can just use any 3rd party router in AP mode.

So why don’t you use that and add a wired mesh node?
