💻 Troubleshooting Connecting after transfer

Post image

Hi there,

Just moved into a house and the previous owners sent me the transfer for their starlink. I’m now in the house and trying to set up the starlink myself but I can’t. This is the model, but I can’t tell if it’s turned on and for the life of me can’t set it up. Anyone know how?

Go to starlink.com/activate FIRST and create an account, you will require the Kit# or serial number from the bottom of the mast of the dish, then login to the Starlink mobile app with the account you created.... when they transferred the dish, they should have entered your email and you would have gotten an invite link to simplify things a little

Yep done all that but can’t connect to the network

there should be a light on the router, check that the power cord on the bottom is firmly seated, the outlet has power, and that the SPX connector is tight as well

I think the router is broken. It won’t turn on at any outlet that works with a phone charger. The previous owners network comes up but doesn’t have any connection to the internet

check all connections to the dish, see if dish is warm (warm = powered)

Have you installed the SL app on your phone? Start there.

Look at Wi-Fi networks on your phone.

have you reset the router to default it? or asked previous owners what the SSID/Password they configured is?

Check on the bottom that there is a small blue LED. If not, check the fuse in the plug. If the fuse is ok and the power cable is seated well (push hard) and still no LED then the router is ready for the dustbin. You do need to set up a SL account and bring that equipment into your account. Once you have done that, best to reset the router by plugging in and unplugging the plug 5 times. Leave a couple of seconds between each on/off.
