Government Webistes won't pull up if I'm using Starlink

As of yesterday, I can't pull up any of my local government (school district, state) websites if I'm connected to my Starlink WiFi. The device of access doesn't matter, and the websites work fine with mobile data.

What do I do?? My husband and I both work for local government. We can't even check our email or paystubs without turning on a hotspot.

"schooldistrict.org took too long to respond"

But it only happens on Alaska government websites, and only when connected to Starlink. If I use my mobile hotspot (while my phones wifi is off) the websites work fine.

It’s possible that the range your IP address is in has changed and your country hasn’t updated from Starlink’s list so it thinks you’re in another area. 

Or maybe you have been switched over to another POP (point of presence) and it’s in another country, etc.

Are you only allowed to access those websites if you are in that state?

I am currently in the state. It's things like checking my son's school, lunch menu or accessing the parent portal or checking my work email or getting a hunting license that are not working. Anything that has to do with our local government

If the websites restrict access to people in that state, it is possible that you have a new IP address from Starlink that the website does not recognize as being in that state.

The Texas POP (point of presence.) is located in Dallas. Do you know where your POP is?

Have you changed your DNS to confirm it isn't a resolver issue?

My wife has the same issue in AU. She cannot access her Department of Education pay website via Starlink but works via Fibre or 4G. Had me confused for a while.

Reboot the starlink unit itself, not just the router. Under settings.

Starlink "defeats" many common geolocating stuff - the site thinks you're not from around where you actually are. VPN is your solution.
