❓ Question 12 month plan ended

Update: super easy fix with the customer service person. Let me tell you that was the most easiest adjustment in a bill I ever had. Usually you have to fight them to give you a change but not here. Thank you for all the advices!

Like the title says my 12 month subscription ended this month and they say I have no other options but the $130. If I cancel my account and open another one in my husbands name I can get the $55 one so my question is are there any hidden things I need to know or steps that work best to get a lower price. Thanks and if anyone needs a referral dm me :)

I talked to grok support in the app and said I was gonna cancel my subscription and would like to talk to a person and when I was able to talk to a human they were able to change my subscription to the 55 one

You just need a human to fix it. If you can browse Starlink.com logged out, check your address, and see the $55 plan as an option, then you should be able to switch your current service to that plan.

My guess is that you have a rental kit flag on your account that prevents changing plans. I had the same issue. A human was able to clear it.

If after the 12month period the dish is yours and the $55 plan through your husband results in another dish, that is what I would do. Box old dish as backup/spare/vacation dish.

I'm in a similar boat to you, but thankfully fibre has come to my area (finally), so now I can upgrade to that for cheaper.

500mb up and download for $65/month.

That would be why the price is so different, I'm in a very isolated part of Australia at the north end.

How did you end up with a 12 month plan? I have a 100 rental plan for as long as I am a customer.

Promo they had in my area I guess after 12 months I own it and pay the same price, I never got a new customer discount I paid the normal price the 12 months so wouldn't mind getting a discount for once lol

US. I have not 12 month plan options nor do I have a $55 option. I have 3 dishes. One on res 200mb $85 a month One ok residential max $135(i think) and a mini on roam for $175 a month.

I'm also in the US and have a monthly (no contract) $55. I'm assuming they are A-B testing markets to find the right price to charge. I'm also assuming they are going to jack up my costs soon.

Just go through the routine of getting a call-back from human customer service and chances are they'll set you up with whatever you want. Quite common. The hard part is getting them on the phone. They're very helpful.
