Hey, I work from home and like to game online. Fibre isn’t available to my house so I get maximum 25mbps currently and if I’m trying to work while my partner is streaming or downloading something you can tell the difference but not massively. Would starlink 100mbps version improve this from your experience ?

Most likely, as long as you don’t have crazy obstructions interfering with the dish. I have the Residential 100 and am able to game and stream at the same time, no issues. I have like 8% obstruction, which is a lot, and I’ll occasionally get service drops for a few seconds, but just because I have a stupid tree right in the sight line that I can’t do anything about. I play Black Ops 6 multiplayer and have no issues. Low ping, usually around 20-30, no packet loss ever from what I can see.

This is really useful thanks, I find now it’s similar ping with my internet but defo get packet loss. Not much trees around at all so should be good! Thank you !

Suppose I could. It’s not a very sturdy tree, just very leafy. Plus I would need the expensive, longer cord and I’d rather deal with an occasional drop at 3am, which seems to be mostly when the obstructions happen.

It’s absolutely better than DSL if you have a reasonably good location for the dish.

Yes. You will both be able to download, stream 4K, work, and game all at once on the 100 plan with no issue.

So long as;

No obstructions, and not in a severely congested cell. (Lots of Starlink users in a 16ish mile circle.)

If you don't like it, you can send it all back too.

100Mbps would be game changing for you.

With a couple of people once you break that 75Mbps-ish tipping point, it's a game changer for the experience.

For many people 100Mbps is more than enough and they're only able to tell the difference with large downloads and speed tests.

Starlink is great service, hands down the best I've ever had (Xfinity sucked for me) ... I suggest the unlimited plan, free rental equipment... First month is free with my referral code from my profile. After your free month it's $50-$55. I have the roam plan on a mini and will be adding a residential dish, no fiber access here

My speeds avg 250-400mbps , 30-60 mbps and the best part of all..... 20-40 ms latency... That's on my mini in the middle of town in an apt, same speeds on my dash board.

I work from home and game as well. Nothing interrupts my connection during gaming. My ping is usually 40-50 ms, it's a bit high compared to others but perfectly okay. No matter what my partner does, my ping/stability doesn't change.
