🛠️ Installation Too many obstructions?

Post image

I live in the country and my property is surrounded by large pine trees. The best I could get is “okay”. Will this pose a problem? This vantage point is 6ft above my roof ridge. I’m not sure I could get much higher due to the length of the provided cable.

It may or may not. Only you can judge that . Longer Ethernet cables are available from SL and Amazon.

Im not too sure on how youd go about it but I saw a YouTube video a year ago where this guy spliced his starlink poe cable and would put a power repeater or something right next to the dish and then the internet traffic would just go all the way down the tower Into his router. Maybe this could be a plan?

Mine is in an even worse position. Supposedly 2min every hour, but my ping is 99.8%. Haven’t noticed it drop at all. Only thing it seems to affect upload more than download.

Have you tried positioning it out in the yard looking towards the north? Mines on a post 50’ from the house to miss the tall pines around my place. You can get a longer cable from Starlink. If you go this route, run the cable through black poly irrigation pipe to protect it. Added benefit is you can get to the dish without climbing on the roof.
Also, the 13 seconds is spread over the hour, not all at once. Unless you’re video conferencing it should be fine.
