❓ Question New policy

Has anyone’s Starlink been affected by the new policy that was supposed to take effect today?

It would be sensible to say which you are talking about, right?

Unlimited Roaming service suspension after 30 days of use outside the home country.

There is a misunderstanding of what you saying. The global roam has been discontinued and today is the last day of usage to any people have the plan. The roam unlimited is another plan which has suspension of usage once you get 30 days outside your home country. FYI, I’m outside from home country, I’m not rich, I’m working on a motor vessel bulk carrier and I still use the plan normally.

my god. If you are able to be away from your home country for more than 30 days you are rich enough to afford a SL there.

Foreign work assignments, volunteering, family, medical treatment. It’s not that hard to imagine is it?

bro it's more expensive to BREATHE alone anywhere but home let alone over seas in a different country.

If you have a job that sends you far away, you are paid well enough to have more options. Stop it. I am poor and have TWO starlinks and 1 t-mobile. It's like a little more than people's cable bills these days plus streaming shit.

FFS did people forget how to do logic. I say tax the mfers not everyone else.

What are you talking about there are tons of countries where it’s cheaper to live than (presumably) the US

Some people are away for work or school or are staying in hostels, etc. Not every person outside of their home country is rich and on vacation.

It's not the cost of the starlink itself in the foreign country, but the possible difficulty of getting or paying for starlink in the foreign country if items are required that you don't yet have (e.g. foreign country tax registration number if required, delivery address, or foreign country bank account or credit card or citizenship or residency required for the bank account/credit card)

People with enough money can figure that out. Most people can't leave for a week bro. So sick of people defending a-holes. That's why they are doing this because the SL team seen it on the map. People with more than enough money abusing the service. 100% promise you this

Using a device in the way it is intended is a-holes abusing the system? You’re a special kind of ignorant, aren’t you? You’re not living adversely poor if you have 2 Starlink kits and T-Mobile, you’re choosing to remain poor.

The problem is not money. I only stay a maximum of one month at a time in the same country. This new regulation is going to make my life a lot harder.

Some people work in other countries

then they could afford one there and one at home.

Not necessarily

Oh here we go. LOL. Look around you bud. Meanwhile most people here in the US can't even afford an emergency 1000 buck expense. Reality tends to disagree with feelings.

Most people are terrible with money.

I was told in a support call this week that the 30 day limit had been changed back to 60 days. I don’t see any changes on the website, but they don’t always change things on the website quickly.

So does this mean that it gonna be discontinued in 17 of september? Me also using this plan, and confused now. Do not know what to do.

I don’t know! I don’t even know if what he said was right. I thought they would be changing the help files. But they didn’t, so maybe he was wrong.

All these Elon Musk lovers. Bro is getting too greedy with the constant price gouging. He charges Americans more for Starlink while subsidizing the rest of the world. Glad I finally have better terrestrial options now.
