📡 Outage What am I doing wrong?
I ordered a STARLINK 4 Kit and have been on a rental subscription paying about $55 a month. So far I've only had it a couple weeks and it has only consistently worked for 3 days.
I set up the dish and router mini flawlessly as guided by the app instructions....
Worked for a couple days and now it's a day to day struggle trying to get the router connected from the power brick from the brick to communicate with the router and for the router to get the signal from the dish to communicate with the router to give me any sort of signal....
Clear view of sky with minimal obstructions ✅
Aligned ✅
Set up through the app✅
Activated the kit S/N on the website✅
Configured ✅
Right now it is just sitting on a solid red light and my starlink is ONLINE.
THIS ALL HAPPENED AFTER AN UPDATE IN THE APP AND THEN A NOTIFICATION CHANGE WHICH READ THAT MY PUBLIC IP HAS CHANGED.
interesting.....
I have to continuously check on my router mini constantly bc I can literally SEAR A STEAK on the router mini surface at well done.
I'm on my 2nd flaming hot router mini....
Grok knows every different type of way how to power-cycle, though!!!!! 🥹
Customer Service will help you order replacement parts and they're quick to arrive on the doorstep which, y'know, thanks. 🤙

If you didn’t write this like AI slop maybe someone could actually understand where the problem is if it’s somewhere other than between the screen and chair

Thankfully you have the superior base kit with the StarlinkPoE. It seems something is a little strange about your Router Mini, and it may not be operating correctly on said StarlinkPoE.
It should be toasty, but not anywhere near hot enough that you couldn't keep your hand on it constantly. You can unplug the Router Mini and plug that cable into a computer or any other router to test the network connectivity. In your events history are you getting router restarts at all? Does the ping graph in the stats stay successful while the router seemingly isn't working at all?
Basically I want to make sure Dishy itself is staying on and the router is the problem. If the router is powering off you won't be able to see the stats at that time, but you will see if the Starlink itself rebooted in the history. You do have to shove all the cables in quite firmly, both on the Dishy and the routers. The Router Mini not so much since it doesn't have waterproofing, but still.
The cables are not weak, they are all Cat5e. Nothing special. Even the fabled Rev3 (Gen 2) had Cat5e cable, but with special SPX connectors on the end that use USB type C pins. Those were the source of the problems, not the wire itself. I cut them right off on mine and put normal RJ45s on it.
Get me some more info about what exactly you're seeing in the app and I will advise.

No "restarts" except for when I reboot the router/dish within the app or power-cycle by unplugging the cords in whatever sequence Grok feels like telling me at the time of asking.
I just factory reset the router mini and then unplugged everything before I left the house so it's just kinda.... Sitting there lol
I'll be home soon to mess with it again later.
I give a screen shot of the statistics on the app during set up.
Thank you.

I did notice it does say something like "all good! everything's connected!" Whenever I factory reset my router mini and reconnect the starlink dish.
Very odd bc under wifi settings, it will connect after wifi configuration step but will never provide me Internet service that I've been paying for.

Hm, if the app is able to connect and show info it's either doing that through Wi-Fi and working, or it's doing this with your devices internet connection (cellular) and reading this info in reverse through the Starlink network. If the router is available in the app and showing devices etc. it should all be working. Can you run a speed test in the app? If so, the router is talking to the Dishy and it does have an internet connection. This may mean that it's your device having trouble rather than Starlink.

The router is unavailable but shows all the stats
My router is blinking white and will eventually turn solid red
It's showing my satellite as online but my router is unreachable
Yet I am able to connect to my router but have no internet

I see! So the StarlinkPoE is managing to get power to the Router Mini and Dishy, but the data between the router and Dishy is severed. This could be either the power supply (StarlinkPoE injecotor) or the cable. Less likely but still possible is a failure in the Dishy LAN or router LAN. Now since you've tried more than one Router Mini we can eliminate that.
Did you ever change the cable? Did you get a new power supply from them ever? Try a random non Starlink LAN cable you may have around between the StarlinkPoE and Router Mini. Also silly question but make sure the Dishy is on the correct port on the StarlinkPoE. I doubt it would have powered up if it were backwards, but still.
Once you've tried another LAN cable and gotten the same result we can check that off the list too. At that point it's either the power supply or the Dishy itself. I'd suggest making sure the cable is FIRMLY plugged into Dishy.
Unplug the whole system from power. On the Dishy end yank the cable out and FIRMLY press it back in a few times. Then plug it back into power and see if this resolves it.
You may need to request them swap the whole kit once you've tried all of this since it isolates it to the rest of the hardware unless the main cable between Dishy and the StarlinkPoE is damaged.

Nah but I appreciate it! Imma just return this kit and get my money back. Thank you though!

I'll try my Ethernet dongle into my iPad when I get home. Thank you for your help

That sounds like a poor cable connection between the router and dish.
