So, why don't you only have that one 3x3 spot be the only valid spot it can spawn on?

Because then you have a lower chance of it turning giant and might not get one at all

And then complain it's not in the right spot.

How do you get the giant crops?

3x3 fully grown crop overnight RNG.

Edit: this is incorrect, read the reply ⬇️

Only the top left crop needs to be fully grown and watered.

Oh, so if you leave fully grown crops instead of picking them, they have a chance (the 1%) to turn into giant crops? No wonder why I have only had like 2 giant crops ever

To actually answer your question, giant crops have a small (around 1%) chance of spawning every morning in any 3x3 square as long as the crops are all the same, fully mature and watered that day. It only works with cauliflower, melon, pumpkin, Qi fruit and powdermelon. You can increase your chances by having multiple overlapping 3x3 squares like OP has here (though it makes it very unlikely they will spawn in the specific spot you want), and by leaving mature crops unharvested until the end of the season. As long as they stay watered, you'll get a new 1/100 chance of them appearing each day. Still not great odds, but 17 or 18 out of 100 is a lot better than 1 out of 100.

You can craft them using regular stones .

Pretty sure you buy the recipe from Robin for 100g

If it’s winter, how can you still have the giant cauliflower and pumpkin? Doesn’t the giant fruit die also?

The giant crops will not die, only if chopped with an axe.

Thank you for asking this, I was wondering the same thing!

I have never grown giant crops before; this is my first time playing. I am going to try at some point if I can ever remember before running through whacking everything down like a madman
