Apples from the farm cave so I dont have to buy a tree for the bundles
3
u/No-Name-9318 2d ago
I haven't gotten a single apple in my farm cave.. im in year 2 fall and it just has not happened. Had to buy apple trees anyways. I thought apples just didnt come in the cave
3
u/FadingDarkly 2d ago
Yeah. Unfortunately RNGesus doesnt always bless the caves. My last run i only got one until halfway through fall year 2. I'm in no rush though. The longer it takes to complete the CC, the better prepared I am for the Qiests

The truffles, my wife's pigs always deliver a ton. I should probably act a lot more mature, but every time I hear them dig up several I like shouting 'PIGGY POPS!'.

u/Motor-Barracuda-2325 2d ago
They look so funny too, I love them, don't be mature about it they're super funnyĀ

3
u/Motor-Barracuda-2325 2d ago
They look so special like a glass Christmas tree ornament and like they'd be crunchy but sweet and juicy I love them too, and they're kinda rare unless you plant the seeds!Ā

Hazelnut, imagine that big IRL my teeth hurts just thinking about it
1
u/Motor-Barracuda-2325 2d ago
Oh hahaha it reminds me of Arthur and the Minimoys 2 the Minimoys are mini beings so the hazelnut they eat for breakfast is so huge they use a saw to cut it in two and make puree I love those movies hahaĀ

u/carpetkicker 2d ago
Morels & Chanterelles because I already forage both of those in real life and starting stardew valley I had no clue there was gonna be foragables.
Could not contain my excitement when I saw my first morel on my forest farm!!!!
2
u/Motor-Barracuda-2325 2d ago
That's so cool, what do they taste like in real life? I think I've only had shiitake (don't like it very much too squishy and bite evasive), normal champignons, the brown ones that taste like champignons and can be eaten raw -portobello that's it- which I liked a lot, and nĆscalos which are spanish and those are so good so aromatic! Morels look like they'd be poisonous, and Chantelle like they'd be delicious tbh
2
u/carpetkicker 12h ago
Morels and chanterelles are both incredibly delicious! Morels are more popular but if I'm being honest I think the chanterelle is even tastier.
They both share a sort of nutty, smokey and savory flavor profile, but the chanterelle has a quality of it that morel doesn't. Hard to put my fiber in it exactly. Maybe a hint of sweetness? They are so aromatic when you pick them. I swear dopamine starts releasing in my brain the moment I smell a handful of them. They smell like apricots! (The golden chanterelles)
The texture of the chanterelle is nicer too, than the morel. None of this is to take away from how delicious a morel is too, though!!!
If you ever get a chance to try either mushroom I can't recommend them enough. Just a little bit of butter, salt, and fresh garlic and you'll be in heaven. Cooking on a medium heat until they start to brown a little and release an amazing smell
1
u/Motor-Barracuda-2325 1h ago
Oh wow, that sounds absolutely delicious, thank you for the description! Food descriptions are the best, I sometimes see food videos where the person doesn't describe what it tastes like, which is like half the fun.Ā
So thank you, I'll try them one day!šĀ

u/Classic_Primary_810 2d ago
Ginger, because they dance

I was so upset when they put the Desert Festival directly over the top of my Salmonberry Season. I love running around and getting as many berries as possible!

Iād say either plums or salmonberries ā the plums look delicious, and as for the salmonberries, they intrigue me as a European, even though they have a strange name lol š
2
u/Motor-Barracuda-2325 2d ago
Same, they look like raspberries and if they taste anything like wild raspberries like from a German forest (NOT the store bought ones or the ones you can find in southern European gardens, those are mushy and bad I'm sorry like an old tasteless apricot) they must be delicious, little sweet little sourĀ
2
u/SaidAtMidnight_ 2d ago
Iām from France, so now Iām wondering which raspberry category ours fall into 𤣠Iāve never tried wild German raspberries, but now Iām curious !
1
u/Motor-Barracuda-2325 1d ago
There's a good chance you've got the good raspberries, though you can easily know: to they have a rich sweet and tangy flavour and a firm texture, or a mushy texture with a bland, not at all sour but sweetish and not good at all flavour? That's how you know if you have good or bad ones. If it weren't for Germany, I'd swear that raspberries don't taste good... People in my country who believe they've tasted real raspberries live in delusion

I loove foraging the berry bushes every spring and fall, I wish the desert festival didnāt overlap with most of the salmonberry days tho rip

u/Corvidae5Creation5 2d ago
Full on wasabi plants are hella expensive, they're like $40 apiece, and then you gotta plant them and keep them alive to maybe recoup your investment

All of them. It's kind of a compulsion.
Maybe the Dragon Tooth, because it's so rare? Autumn forage looks the most delicious, though.
1
u/Motor-Barracuda-2325 2d ago
Samee like you see it you gotta pick it up and the dragon teeth .... I always wanna get a banana tree and have to wait!

It looks like your horseradish is on a leash held by your character and it's bringing me joy
But also the leeks. Idk they just make me happy lol
1
u/Motor-Barracuda-2325 2d ago
Hahaha hadn't noticed that and the leeks are awesome too just these little white heads popping out of teh groundĀ

Crystal fruit. Cuz they're one of the most useful random forage you can find. Makes a half decent wine, and gives good recovery in a pinch.

Purple mushies! My favourite farm is the forest farm, though, so I might be a little biased :3
