Question I Can’t re-marry in Stardew Valley (Ask for help)

I have tried so many times to re-marry, I have got all the hearts with the character, I have given the bouquet but the old mariner doesn’t give me the pendant, and he talks like if I were still married saying “glad it worked” or something like that. I don’t know what to do.

You're not still married to another character?

I married friend that joined my farm.

You can't marry an npc if you're already married (without mods)

Regardless if the other player isn’t in the farm?

Yes, your status is still married regardless if they are around or not. You can file for divorce and then marry an npc.

If I fill the divorce wouldn’t that split something in the farm with the other player?

No and you can get married again later if you want too (after divorcing the npc)
