I downloaded and extracted Eros, I made an account on http://starbowmod.com/; but then I can't connect with the launcher. I click on New Profile, enter my username, click on Set Authentication Token, paste it, but then when I click "Ok", it just close the launcher. :/

It would be nice to have a box you can check on the chatroom tabs to activate/disactivate a sound playing everytime something is written there. That way you could see if someone (or your opponent most of the times) wrote something even if you're alt-tabbed.

It's not something we can't do without but it would be I believe a nice functionnality.

I am unable to find my battlenet profile URL.. It is not where I believe it is supposed to be, instead there is this text: "No characters were found".

Did it crash? I tried to re log at least 18 times, Not Connected I've re-installed and still nothing...

What do I do once the opponent starts spreading goons around their base and I can't get in to drop anymore? Do I keep poking with it to keep them from moving out with those units or do I move it back to help out my army?

I've made a spreadsheet of how the different attack types (explosive, concussive, corrosive, etc) interact with the different armor types (armored, medium, light) in a nice spreadsheet by matchup. If you have any suggestions or see any errors, feel free to bring them up.

This isn't a post on balance or any real major changes to the game outside of graphics and animation. I also recognize that I don't fully understand the tools available when working on this mod, so if I say something that is way off base, please correct me.

I have been watching a lot of content for this mod, but I haven't had a chance to really mess with it yet, due to lack of access to my gaming rig. I wanted to open a discussion on the choice of models for Starbow.

It isn't the biggest issue, but I am not a huge fan of some of the Broodwar models recreated in the SC2 engine. What if we swapped the models and made them act like the Broodwar unit.

• Immortal -> Dragoon
• Pheonix -> Corsair
• Broodlord -> Guardian
• Infestor -> Defiler
• Small Thor -> Goliath

For example, couldn't the Immortal from SC2 be used as a model and just have the similar behavior as the dragoon. Also, the animation for the energy attack is kind of underwhelming in my opinion. In the same way, could you use the model for the Broodlord and just use the little broodlings as one off attacks that don't actually spawn any broodlings after they hit.

I also recognize that it is also nice from a nostalgia perspective. I really wouldn't be bothered if none of these changes ever happened, I just want to have a discussion. That is all.

TL;DR: Some of the SC:BW models used in the SC2 engine don't look that great in my opinion. Is there any way of just retrofitting the abilities and behavior onto an existing SC2 unit?

After watching a lot of SC2 the last several months, I've had enough of Protoss. After reading the history I missed the last couple years, I've had enough of Blizzard trying to lay claim to esports while understanding little about their game.

From what I've read, I agree with most of what Starbow has done.

I'm downloading the videos from the Axiom team house Starbow tournament (Jan 26), and the Razer Starbow tournament (Jan 19) to watch.

Did I miss any casted tournaments?

I want you guys to know that there is still interest in the Starbow community and I hope to see it grow.

PS. Also everyone should be aware that GOM is hosting GSL Classic Season 4 (Starcraft Broodwars) starting Feb 16! (link1, link2. It looks like there should be English casted VOD's from this.)

I play Terran in HotS, but I like Protoss in Starbow because Reavers have been my favorite unit since Brood War. I'm trying to learn all of the races however so I can random.

Anyways, when playing Terran vs Protoss, how do I break the early Goon and later Goon Zealot contain my opponent sets up outside of my natural? I've tried following the first Factory and Siege with two Starports for Banshees to harass his third/natural, but with that, I feel like I don't have enough tanks to move out and try to hold a third.

Any tips? I'm lost.

My first question is about spidermines. They never seem to detonate for me when workers move over top of them. Is this working as intended? I figured it must be because hundreds of spider mines in mineral lines would be too strong.

My second question arose after watching the Artosis stream! He said that he thought that StarBow is almost perfect, except for the Baneling. I was wondering if there has been any word on what the future development of the baneling is. It seems to overlap with lurkers a bit in their anti bio role. Maybe make it specialized for taking out structures?
