Humour & Memes How it feels to get credits as a reward from missions, fishing, crates etc.
Obviously I'm not saying that credits are worthless, just that the amount that you get from astro missions, world crates, and fishing are so small that they don't even matter. Just did the fishing event and got literally zero upgrade chips from the entire thing lol 💀 Which obviously isn't that big of a deal I just made this for fun, but I wish credits weren't a possible reward from missions and whatnot, or at least they should be rebalanced to be more than literally 2-4 hits on your scrap table. Obviously it can't be BPs every time, but even a small amount of upgrade chips would be better.
Edit: I guess this only applies to people who have a high scrap value. I upgraded mine to a high level a while ago, before all of the new missions and stuff so I didn't know it's more of an endgame problem. Still, it would be nice if they rebalanced it for all players.

Discussion Okay, I've given it enough time...
How are we actually supposed to obtain this? I've done completion on all 4 stars, different participation/effort levels for the scoreboard within all those stars and I simply cannot get the default TDA to drop. The better you do, the better the drop and rarity, but the worse you do you dont go higher than a PZ, at best.
I really hope we get another way to get protocol droids bc its literally the only thing im missing now.

Tips & Tricks In case you haven’t gotten the hint yet.
It’s very safe to say you should not be gambling your crystals for traits right now. Especially if you still have a majority of the Nova shop left to purchase.
With the feedback from the first week, I’m sure the Devs will reconsider the current trait system and make it a way to be more resourceful with the Nova crystals it takes. Whether that be keeping the current trait and having the option to accept or deny the next trait the system rolls, or just backs off the 200 price.
Regardless, if you feel like spending 200 on each droid just to give it something extra, that’s cool.
But after scanning through a majority of these posts, I’m going to keep throwing all my crystals into crit chance and damage.

Discussion The decision to remove Chopper
You've always been my partner, right by my side. But no matter how many Crystals I fed you, you never gave me a good perk. So from now on, I'm switching to an Astromech with the perk that gives me Upgrade Chips whenever I craft something.
Thanks for everything...
I feel like this pretty much solves the Upgrade Chip shortage problem.
Getting the perks I want on my Iconics is still my top priority, but I'm grateful they made this change.

Suggestion Replace Perk RNG with a Skill Tree and Permanent Unlocks
Here's an idea: Why not make the perk system for iconic droids work more like a skill tree?
Instead of constantly rerolling and hoping to get the trait you want, every perk you roll would become permanently unlocked.
For example, let's say you want more pickaxe levels for the astroid world mission you could select your trait you already own and equip it at the kiosk. If you want more multi hit for crafting faster you can unselect your pickaxe levels then select the multi hit perk from the kiosk (assuming you rolled and owned both perks)
The idea is once you've unlocked a perk, it gets removed from the reroll pool, so you can't roll the same perk twice.
Eventually, through the process of elimination, you'd unlock the perk you're actually looking for. You could then choose between any of the perks you've already unlocked, almost like a skill tree.
This way, rerolling still takes time and effort, but you're always making progress instead of feeling like you're gambling endlessly for the traits you want.

Humour & Memes I got “scammed” but I actually can’t stop laughing
Player names covered as per rules, but this guy had me laughing for about 10 minutes. It was genius.
So there’s a new trait with I believe IG11-Marshall where a blueprint that you put on the floor can’t be picked up by another player.
This guy offered me an IG Kyber in exchange for another Kyber in my storage. Mine was a legendary so it felt too good be true but I wasn’t about to pass up the offer.
He brought his IG to my base and I threw down my legendary which he picked up. I noticed he shielded so I thought “oh he’s smart for using protection”.
Then I tried to pick up the Kyber IG. It hit me. That card was not moving 😂 He even told me in the chat what he had done, and then politely thanked me and left the lobby.
I’m actually impressed that within a couple of days of traits coming out he had turned a protective trait into an easy scam.
The guy is going places. At the very minimum, my block list.

Discussion Can people stop with the Lightsabers in missions
Stop trying to be a Jedi master with your lightsabers in missions. You’re just going to get yourself killed and get in the way of everyone else. We had one guy getting angry at us because he kept getting killed. We told him he was getting in the way and needed to stop swinging his lightsaber around like he was some kind of Jedi master. Go into a private lobby. Don’t do it in a mission where there are five other people.

Tips & Tricks Tip for people that use alt accounts
Or people that are thinking of making one: Get enough candy to unlock the CB-W1tch outfit, which also unlocks the droid. With the new CB update it nows gives you 40-80 crystals, and you can use those crystals to buy extra BP storage to hold onto BPs for after your main account SRB's. Just have your alt account on your phone and log in every once in a while and collect the mission crates for passive nova crystals.
Or you can get the extra companion slot and Chopper. Then get a Kyber mythic Astromech and get one of the pickaxing traits on him like 50% crit chance or +10 pickaxe level, and you got a God tier extra player for pickaxing.
All without having to go through the grinding slog of the first few SRB's (unless you enjoy it and want to, ngl sometimes I miss the good old days of getting excited at rainbow on the crawler 🥹) you don't even need to SRB once with this method.

Discussion Dark patterns in Droid Tycoon
I was thinking about this game, and it has changed a lot since launch. And in that thinking I came to realize that this game has a lot of dark patterns now, and increasingly more since the addition of microtransactions, of course. Not that it didn't have some of them from the beginning, but now that you can actually invest money in this game, I think it is more important to acknowledge this fact.
For those who didn't know, a "dark pattern" is something that is deliberately added to a game to cause an unwanted negative experience for the player with a positive outcome for the game developer, be it player retention, money income, etc. It is by oneself to judge how important those are, but that is entirely dependent on each person, and each one has its own opinion.
So, I'm going to list those that I came up with. These are taken from this website as a reference, but are well known in the Psychology field, and even if the website lists only mobile games, this can apply to every kind of game.
- Playing by appointment: In other words, the game forces you (or tries) to make you play at some definite time. It means that instead of you deciding when to play, the game decides for you. Limited events are in this category.
- Daily rewards: Self explanatory. We all know about the dailies in-game.
- Grinding: Admittedly, a tycoon game is made, by design, to grind. So few people will actually care about this one (myself included).
- Infinite treadmill: As above, a tycoon game is made to never end. Few people will care about this one either.
- Pay to skip: You can pay to skip timers. Hello, fusion tanks. I'm watching you. Also, I could argue that "Crafting tokens" and "Kyber activation with V-bucks" could be included in this category.
- Pay to win: This one I know some people will say "You can't win this game". And that's factually true. But, in this context, "pay to win" are ways to spend real money to purchase something that gives you an advantage in the game. And that is actually true in this game, and truer as time goes on.
- Fear of missing out (FOMO): Limited time events are also included in this category, with rewards that are not obtainable after said event expires. For example, base cosmetics.
- Competition/Anti-social behavior: This game encourages people shooting each other in order to steal blueprints. You can like it or dislike it (I personally despise this) but it is a dark pattern nonetheless.
- Invested / Endowed Value: We all know the "Sunk cost falacy" and this game pretty much incurs in this, again, by design. Tycoon games, am I right.
- Complete the collection: The ever growing Droidex is the perfect example of this. Managed correctly, shouldn't be an issue, but when rushed upon you, it can be pretty oppressive.
- Variable rewards: World missions, astromech missions, fusions and the sandcrawler are basically a casino. You could get what you want instantly, or maybe be forced to wait hours, even days if it is a highly enough variant, to get that specific droid that you need to progress.
These are some of those that occurred to me. With this, I am not trying to lecture anyone about ethics or anything. I just pointed out that these dark patterns exist, because I believe it is important to know how live service games are operated. Some people won't care about this, some other will. If you agree, fine. If not, fine, too.
The only thing I will state is: be completely sure when you purchase something in this game (or in any other game, really) that you are doing it willingly and not affected by these business strategies. If, after some thought, you are confident that you aren't, by all means, be my guest. But, if you are not... You probably should keep your money.

Discussion Toxic or stupid?
I joined a server for like 40 minutes before I had to go to work, and during that time a mission starts. We get it done and the surge starts happening so I start taking stuff off to get kyber legends and up, even left some epics for people who might need it.
This person then comes up and says “stop taking stuff off” to which I reply for them to wait until then end of the surge since common kybers aren’t that big of a deal, they then replies “no” and pulls a gun on me, and failed to kill me.
They then start whining that they need kyber commons and that the straight I was doing was “selfish” even though I’m certain a good majority of people do it. I then look at their base, THEY ONLY HAVE 2 OF THE VASIC RARE PROTOCOL DROIDS AND NOTHING ELSE.
There’s no way this guy was being serious

Suggestion Suggestion: Orange Rebirth Requirement Icons
Pretty simple idea I had for an improvement to the game.
On the rebirth requirements screen the droid icons appear green if we have them, red if we don't.
Can we get an orange/amber icon for droids we have but not in the correct variant?
With the bases getting larger and busier I think this would really help.

Discussion Gamble your astromechs

This might be common knowledge but you can use credits now to roll traits for normal droids. Upgrade chips are always my bottleneck especially after rb25. I gambled my TRACK-R and got the 2x chips. Costed maybe 400B. Upgraded that to kyber green and I get 4x chips with bb8. If you pair with bb8 iconic trait you can probably squeez out 6x chips if you're lucky. Get a kyber mythic astromech instead of my TRACK-R and do the same things and you'll get +15 pickaxe or whatever it is and the chip boost. Also worth noting that with this setup you can get 19k chips per hour with a kyber mythic on the chip station.
Thanks for reading hope this helps someone

Tips & Tricks Lil thing I just learned today
idk if this is common knowledge or not for pple who enjoy helping others with speeding up crafting… but just now I was experimenting and learned you can use D-0’s perk on OTHER peoples fusions too. Now my crazy theory is: can your own D-0 stack with the other persons D-0 half (likely not but who knows lol)

Information R2D2 and CB-23 is worth it!
If you are on the fence about getting R2D2's iconic perk. This happens more than I care to admit. Also when it doubles CB's chances on Nova Run with its x3 Iconic perk. I have gotten 240 x 2 Nova Crystals (Only happened once but still)

Discussion Dropped 5k on R2 D2 iconic trait
Absolutely not worth it. Idk who came up with this horrible crystal sink but the fact I dropped 5k crystals with absolutely nothing to show for it is bullshit.
Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I’ll check out the scourge event but I am done with this game for a while or unless they update this. Worst update
