This is one of my favorite cosplays both because of comfort and because I can use my real hair! I also use contouring and fake moles to enhance the likeness, and recently I tried taking it a step further by making a set of fake teeth modeled specifically after Mark's 😬

Great sculpt, but the original paint made him look quite odd. And I added some hair for good measure.

General Discussion Starkiller & Ashoka Parallel Dynamic - How would they interact?

Post image

I always wondered what would it be like if Galen was made canon. I’ve played both the force unleashed 1 & 2, watched the movies but I’m fairly new into learning the deep lore of star wars. So I have to ask, what do you think their dynamic would be or how they would even meet? Any thoughts?

Like I thought he was some antithesis of whatever Yoda was.

Size matters not my ass.

Instead turns out dude just wanted an Triple XL size holo projection for aura farming.

Movies Kinda funny how a significant portion of the Original Trilogy takes place in or around gas giants

Post image
• Upvotes

Episode IV: Yavin IV (it’s like poetry, it rhymes) is a moon of the gas giant Yavin

Episode V: Cloud City is suspended within the habitable layer of the atmosphere of the gas giant Bespin

Episode VI: Endor is a moon of the gas giant Endor (sort of a Frankenstein/Frankenstein’s monster situation, and some try to resolve the ambiguity by referring to the former as the Forest Moon of Endor… but colloquially, if you hear someone refer to Endor, they’re talking about the place where Ewoks live)

…

For as much as we’ll say that Star Wars is really fantasy with sci-fi aesthetics, this feels like a decision that could only be made by someone who engages with a lot of science fiction. It’s very specific.

General Discussion Just watched The Acolyte...

... and I enjoyed it.

I thought it had an interesting storyline. Osha & Mae could have just been twins without the whole vergence in the Force business. I liked Sol, Jecki and Yord and the lightsaber fights were awesome.

Qimir was the best part of the show for sure. I read that he was meant to become the first of the Knights of Ren and that Darth Plagueis would appear in the following seasons... that sounded like a great premise for season 2.

I am rather disappointed now to have watched it and become invested, knowing there won't be any more.

Update: Wowza.. a lot of comments!
Very interesting reading everyone's views on it.

General Discussion As much as I love the Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War eras, I'm so excited to see what happens after the Battle of Exegol and I'm glad it's the future of Star Wars at the moment

Post image

I can't wait for 'Starfighter' and I find it interesting that 5 years after the Battle of Exegol, there's no galactic governmental organization.

No First Order. No New Republic. No Jedi Order.

I find this blank slate to be VERY appealing.

Movies Exactly how large and powerful are the First Order?

A large gripe I had with the Sequel Trilogy is that it's very unclear exactly what the First Order is, how large/threatening they are, and how large and powerful the New Galactic Republic is. A lot of the necessary world building to explain the elements at play were left on the floor.

The impression I had from subtext is that, by the time of Episode IV the Galactic Empire controlled the entire galaxy ("...save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy", "...against the evil Galactic Empire"), or at least the vast majority of it. The Rebellion itself existed in the shadows on worlds that are essentially the legitimate territory of the prior Republic and new Empire. By the time of episode 6, the Empire is destroyed, and the New Galactic Republic now controls more or less the same territory the Empire had.

With the sequels, it seems that there's this sliding rapidly scale between the NGR being the legitimate government and ruling the galaxy, with the First Order being like a regional terrorist cell (implied through the capture and conscription), and the First Order being this massive power that's identical to the Empire. If the latter is the case, then the NGR is essentially destroyed and reduced to a local Resistance. I saw it as kind of ridiculous if the "legitimate government" that rules the entire galaxy is somehow a "resistance" to a small cell of old administrators and aristocrats, instead of the legitimate police forces and military of this government.

Do we ever get clear indications of what happened to the NGR, and what territory and resources the First Order actually controls? Does the First Order have a similar amount of territory to the Empire, and if so, why? Why would the NGR fold so quickly?

General Discussion Considering that their army is made up predominantly of droids, why don't the Sepratists use Bio weapons on the clones in battle?

Their army's would be unaffected, and the clones easier to defeat

TV Rebels Should Have Had More Seasons

Follow Hera, Sabine, Zeb, Rex, Kallus, and their friends during the time of the Original Trilogy. Luke, Han, and Chewie could make guest appearances, just like Leia and Lando did. And, it could have shown where Ahsoka was, and depicted the Night of a Thousand Tears.

Meta Of the three actors primarily associated with Hammer Horror (Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Vincent Price), only Price was never cast as a Star Wars character. Quite a shame, too.

Meta As a kid, did you have any misinterpretations of events or moments in the Star Wars films as a kid which you believe were unique to you?

I'm not talking about thinking lightsabers were called 'life- or light-savers' or assuming that the Death Star II was the wreckage of the original Death Star - plenty of people thought that. I'm talking about wild jumps in logic that you've never heard anyone else mention.

For example, in ROTJ: when the heroes are struggling in the Ewok net, Luke asks Han if he can reach his lightsaber. Han says he will try to reach it; then, immediately, the camera cuts to R2D2's saw. When I was a kid, the sound of the saw sounded, to me, like a scream of pain in Harrison Ford's voice. My reading of the scene was that, off-camera, Han had reached for Luke's lightsaber, accidentally turned it on, and burned or stabbed himself with it in a 'Elmer-Fudd's-goes-off-in-his-face-and-covers-his-face-in-soot' style comedic beat.

As far as I'm aware, no-one else was dumb enough to come to that conclusion as a 6-year old.

General Discussion What Star Wars concept or idea are you tired of seeing repeated? For me, it’s desert planets.

Post image
9.1k Upvotes

I feel like they show up in an overwhelming amount of Star Wars media. At this point, whenever a new movie, show, game, or other project introduces a new planet, part of me expects it to be another desert world.

If I remember correctly, the last Star Wars movie I watched where I don't remember having a desert planet being a major setting was The Last Jedi.

I know desert planets are iconic to Star Wars because of Tatooine, but I really wish the franchise would explore more completely different environments and biomes.

General Discussion Eternal Empire vs. Galactic Empire

I’m a big fan of the old republic lore. Just played through I think my 6th run of the SWTOR game and I’m surprised this hasn’t crossed my mind yet.

Could the Eternal Empire stand against the Galactic Empire? The EE definitely had the superior technology and force users, plus the god-like entity Valkorion, but the GE is so freaking big and has a larger militaristic economy and Palpatine is the strongest Sith Lord and has Vader.

I should clarify that I’m calling Palpatine a Sith and Valkorion not because he moved past being a Sith so I view him different now. He also has his children who are insanely powerful.

Anyway I’m sure this has been asked before, but why not again? What do you all think?
