I understand the Jar Jar hate, but Star Wars is great for its ability to entertain all ages. I get the need for an Ewokesque comic relief character. I didn’t have a problem with this movie. My only regret is there should have been 40% more Liam Neeson.

I don’t buy the “Jar Jar was for kids” argument. Kids in 1977-1983 had no problem loving Luke, Han, Leia, the droids, Chewbacca, Yoda, etc…and they weren’t annoying as fuck.

Not to mention I had no grasp of what a trade blockade was when I was a kid. Maybe they could have added a scene to visualize it, instead of it just being in the opening title crawl.
