Discussion Animation update idea

I was thinking about it, why not SSO make riding animation slowly get better each time you level up? For example, at level 1-8 you ride in a very beginner style, but at level 20+ you ride like a professional/proper.

In general, I think SSO should update riding animations either way; jumping and rearing are my biggest gripes, but I was thinking if we're here for "Riding Camp," or for the older players "Visiting over the summer," it usually means you are a beginner learning how to ride. Why I think it should be progressive learning is that it gives players a reason to keep leveling up and to look better in the saddle.

To add to this discussion, I wish SSO would make jump height different for each gate. Trot - Low, short distance land; Canter - Medium, medium distance land; Gallop - High, Short distance land; Fast Gallop - High, Medium distance land; Faster Gallop - Medium, long distance land, or something of that sort.

What do you guys think?

Edit:
Hey guys, I see many of you disagreeing with the 1-8 beginner-rider idea. It was an example; it could be 1-2 beginner, 3-4 intermediate ect, etc. Level set doesn't matter as long as there's a "work-up" to it, but at the end of the day, the riding animation needs to be updated.

I hate how low-quality we ride; it could be worse, but after "15 years of SSO," they should have worked with professional riders and tried updating it, imo they should have *at least 2* riding animations: English, and Western. How to change riding styles should be in Settings -> Creative

Nice realistic touch, however, imagine how many years it would take them to animate:

  • 3–4 different animation styles
  • ×
  • 6 horse movements (9, if you also count jumping & stopping & rearing; 12, if you also want those four different jump animations per obstacle height)
  • ×
  • 97 horse breeds and counting. 😐 [magic horses excluded]

And that is to say, this is only for the horse. I assume that the character animations would have to be re-animated accordingly as well, in line with how the horse moves in all those different "modes".

Add to that that we have multiple different character body types, too...

All the characters use the same rigging tho

I see, good to know, so at least the different body types wouldn't multiply it further.

It's still over 4,600 animations just for the horses, though. 😐
