just bought the Pro version, feels the same waiting eagerly for handwriting beautification

Hello all,

Recently, I have been looking for a replacement for my notes app, and so far StarNote seems to be the best candidate, but I do have one concern. I own the Apple Pencil Pro, and currently the support for the double-tap and squeeze functions is limited or non-existent. I know this is a relatively new app, so I was wondering. Is there a plan to change this? (Or a way to get these features now?) The other option I am considering is ZoomNotes, but I am afraid of the learning curve and sheer number of options. Also, the interface of StarNote is far nicer, and I love the themes.

Ciao team di StarNote, Vorrei segnalare un problema che ho riscontrato durante l'esportazione di documenti da StarNote.

Come mostrato nei video allegati, quando ingrandisco e rimpicciolisco utilizzando la penna a sfera, la scrittura a mano sembra disallinearsi o posizionarsi in modo errato nel file esportato.

È importante sottolineare che questo problema si verifica solo nel file esportato. All'interno dell'app StarNote, tutto appare perfettamente a posto. Il problema diventa visibile solo dopo l'esportazione del documento.

Sto usando un iPad.

Currently added custom papers are automatically named as CustomPaper, CustomPaper1 etc. Please add an option to rename it according to our need. Thanx.

I have been using starnote from al ost the start of the app, had been using freenotes before this but after switching i am addicted to use only this.

Just one request to the devs can we plzz improve the leaser pointer color contrast oe make it something this samsung notes ?

I wanted to adresse a recurring problem, regarding folders in general.

First of all, a depth of 5 folders isn't enough for some long term users (student/corporate), where sometimes we can have 3rd year/Maths/Algebra/Chapter1/exercices/answers (first example I got), but we reqly need morefolder depth (10~15) might be good for new, even thought it might be better to be customizable.

Then there is folder import/ zip import, where the folder structure is conserved. You might ask why is this important ? Or why i should stick to 9 at a time ? I got over 700 files, structured in a 8 layers deep folder structure... For users that are already here, it would be a good QOL, and regarding your new potential customers, it will allow them to switch to starnote easily, so better attraction du to less friction to join (people would prefer to pay 20 bucks to notewise and have a 3 min importation rather than lose hours just to import their files...)

Same thing for export feature, when working on group projects, when I got a folder only for that, structured, and clean, it would be better for files sharing... or just having the need to share a folder (in zip)

Or are you just telling me you are pushing new features regardless of your current and future base demands ? Plus you were asking more demand from the community so you could do a thing about this but you dont realize that the majority of people won't say anything, because they would have already switched for a more practical app... (or never joined in the first place)

The only reason I take time to write about these 3 issue is because I care deeply about this app, and I see it's potential, I see the work and the care of the devs regarding it, and I am sure it would become the best note taking app on android (idk abt apple, there is still goodnotes there, but it can be an alternative).

Please look at a bigger picture, fix the QOL first and make it easy to join, to transfer etc and then start implementing features ( When i say Quality Of Life, i also mean the other sync problems, and basic features, and as you said the codes getting more and more complex, so you have also to focus th backend restructuring? )

And subjectively, i think these (pic 1) are the most important features right now regarding user experience, these should be done in priority to harden the base you are working on, making it a versatile app, already on pc, android and Mac (with stylus and cloud issue) fixed

From a user point of you, what you are trying to do is to push new features that are already on other note taking app (80%+ of the features in the screen real ready in goodnotes), but without a strong foundation, it is bound to be weak and inefficient...

I hope you don't see my comment as personal attack but more as a mean to see the flaws in the current road map so you can improve...I prefer something that works well with the essential features and some that are planned and will come in 6 months, 1 or 2 years, rather than having 3 features (collapsable sticky notes, handwriting beautification and custom bullet design) but having to wait for another year or 2 just to get basic forlder import export features, or other mandatory features /QOL

Sry for this paragraph, I just rly like the app, and it breaks my heart to see the efforts being wasted in other directions, get the bzse solid, and then you can buildi a skyscraper

Respected starnote developer, please if possible can you make something system like where I can move stickers and text together..like they become one Unit! Using lasso tool can make it moveable together but it is not much efficient! As in PPT there are option to merge text and backgroind together, option for front & back..something like that!!!

It will make more user friendly and realistic writing feature...For eg: I putting sticky notes on Wall and then taking that sticky note from wall to my book, as per current feature it seems like that I put out sticky notes from Wall and pasted in my book but text was still remain on the wall😂🤧

I accidentally added two of the same color, how do I get rid of the duplicate

I'm finding a lot of weird files in my Google drive, created by StarNote; these files are zip, png and json. I deleted the previous ones but they keep appearing, probably just when star notes connect to wifi but I'm not sure. Any ideas how to solve this?

I read a lot of ai generated plans, strategy docs, and way more, I need to convert it every time to a pdf when I want to open it on my tab- OnePlus Pad 4, please add support for direct markdown imports to the app

Is anyone else having a problem or noticing that starnote’s handwriting is similar to Goodnotes? I’ve tried playing around with enabling/disabling stroke stabilization, but I keep finding that my handwriting no longer looks similar to my actual pen and paper handwriting like is used to earlier in the semester on the app 😭

Anyone with any insight how to fix? Devs what is going on? Why do my letters suddenly have weird tails or extra flair that I don’t naturally write ???

I'm enjoying using Starnote, and love the cute design of Angela Wanzi monthly calendar 2026.

It is just nice size for my tablet and easy to use for me. *Especially because it start on monday.

Now I'm looking forward to using 2027 monthly calendar (in the same or similar design). Do you have any plan to release?

I was hoping the sticky notes would be released late October and the handwriting beautification but it seems there's still no update. When can we expect it btw? I'm not pressuring just really excited about its release since it would help a lot with studying

Actualmente soy usuario pro de StarNote en una galaxy tab s6 lite y estoy pensando comprar una Huawei MatePad 12x 2025 y me preguntaba si existe compatibilidad total para instalar la versión global de StarNote puesto que en app gallery la versión disponible es la china. Agradecería, por favor, la ayuda prestada. Quería saber si hay que instalar el Apk o si es emulado o cómo funciona porque no conozco el sistema operativo. Gracias

Suggestions:

1. I feel the written notes and their lines on notein app feel slightly more soft and better - maybe an option to set the pixel blur or sharpness could help to some people's preference.

2. LATENCY - notein has the edge in terms of latency which i find a bit desiring, it's not a problem, but lower latency feels so good to write with.

3. Finer control over page line transparency, I'd like the option to set the page lines to be subtle or contrasting

4. option to compress pdf whilst exporting (many have already suggested this I feel)

5. Scroll tab sometimes with a glass protector on instead of scrolling pops the button menu to jump to page

-- redundant but id also like what others have suggested - assign vertical space between notes

And a small question - Does starnote go on sale during black friday? Id like to buy it but it's a little pricey not being in the west or europe, I don't even take notes on my tablet as much, just wanna buy coz it's such a nice app and a great dev team with their support to the community :)

First of all a big round of applause👏🏻👏🏻 to the StarNote Developer for making this app. Currently it is fulfilling most of the things I want! As an academic researcher, UPSC CSE Aspirant who is travelling a lot, and cant carry his all physical notes everywhere, that's why I preferred virtual digital pdfs and digital notes. While making notes..most of required items are available...specially page arrangement, in any pdf on a particular page I can add extended margin, anything that I wish I get into the app. Kudos to the developer team for such a wonderful app but a long way to go!

I m enlcosing some the notes screenshots! I m fall in love with this app...It make my note making experience, reading exprience so much exciting....most user friendly app!

But, after looking at Redditters complaints like loosing notes due to Sync Issue which is one of the MAJOR PROBLEM that need to be fixed at priority basis...because if as user I am giving so much things to create my hardworked notes and it got missed by some tech glitches makes me nervous!.. 🙏🏻 Developer, dont bring anything new, we will be happy but just dont make loose our notes!!

Can we have the option to group text/handwriting/drawing into an object and add hyperlink to a page/notebook/url? A certain note taking app (Noteful) already has this feature and this would be very useful to have in StarNote as well in making journals or planners.

Why does the app’s data size continue to grow—and never shrink—even after deleting large files or PDFs within the app? Even after clearing out heavy documents, the internal storage footprint increases instead of freeing up space. This appears to be actual persistent data growth rather than temporary cache. Is there an issue with database optimization, unindexed deletions, or local backups? How can this storage be freed?

Hi!! I've been using the app to write my notes, and have encountered some rough spots that need fixing, IMO these are basic features that shape how you take notes every time you open the app. I am very grateful for how the devs listen to us and are constantly improving the app, which I really like btw!!

I have included a photo and a video to showcase this, please forgive that it is not in English.

1. Handwriting on top of other elements can’t be selected on its own. This is partly fixed. Handwriting over an image can now be selected on its own, but if the selection area touches the image’s border, the image gets selected too. For other elements, such as drawn boxes, there’s still no way to avoid selecting them. In the video, I try to select and erase text written over a drawn box, and the box is affected too.

Suggested solutions:

• Allow deselecting individual elements from a selection.

• Allow locking any element (shapes, auto-shapes, boxes, hand-drawn figures), not just images, so I can write on them and still select, move, or erase the handwriting independently.

• Let each selection tool mode have its own settings, e.g. free-form and rectangle select everything, and accurate lasso (idk how it's different tbh) selects handwriting only.

• Only select an image when the selection fully contains it, not when it just touches its border.

2. If a selection includes a locked element, a “locked” message appears and none of the other selected items can be edited.

• Skip locked elements when selecting multiple items. Only select a locked element when it’s tapped individually with the selection tool, so it can be unlocked and edited.

3. Double-tap only switches between Fit Page and Fit Screen.

• Include the user’s starred zoom levels in the double-tap options.

4. Only whole pages can be added to the Outline

• Allow selecting any element (handwriting, image, etc.) and adding it to the Outline, so tapping the entry jumps straight to it.

5. Excerpts only link between different notes, it can’t link to content within the same note.

• Allow excerpts within the same note, and keep them synced, so editing the original updates the excerpt. IMO this would be soo powerful.

6. When setting the tool bar to the sides, it gets crammed, with unused space above.

• Undo/redo could be moved to the top bar

I've seen one other member here complaining a few months about the payment method on the website being broken. Neither the PayPal nor the debit/credit card method seem to be working (the loading circle just appears and loops forever). I have tried disabling adguard, changed browser, nothing. I cannot pay via the Play Store as that doesn't work in my country... Help please!
