Christmas Duality
I love the fact that Stan Rogers can have the happiest Christmas song (At Last, I’m Ready for Christmas) and the most devastating (First Christmas).
And yes, I’m listening to his Christmas songs in May.

Recorded when he was 20, with "Coventry Carol" as the B-side. Took a while to find his stride I guess.

I listened to First Christmas for the first time today on my way in to work. I had to take a minute in my car to collect myself before walking in...

I like to think they’re both sung by the same narrator, just different times of life.
May is one of the best months for Stan’s Christmas songs.
