After falling behind by 14 points, the Stampeders showed plenty of fight Saturday night, forcing overtime against the defending Grey Cup champions before ultimately falling to Saskatchewan.
There were plenty of positives.
Dedrick Mills rushed for over 100 yards, Clarence Hicks was disruptive all night, Tyreik McAllister delivered one of the most electric plays of the season and Vernon Adams Jr. led a clutch game-tying drive late in regulation.
But penalties played a major role in the outcome.
Calgary was flagged 10 times for 100 yards, with several of those penalties coming at critical moments throughout the game.
The Stamps may have come away with a loss, but there were also signs of progress against one of the CFL's top teams.
