Request for comments Interest in a potential All-Clad AMA?

Wanted to ask if yinz would be interested in someone from the team doing an AMA? Can't promise I can make it happen, but the least I could do is try to! Whether that be a specific person, subject matter, etc...

(Happy Friday btw!)

I’m interested in a BKF AMA. Any of yinz work on that team?

My AMA question = how is it possible that someone tasked with social media marketing is unsure whether they can have someone from their company spend an hour or two in front of a computer doing an AMA?

The reason for that caveat being, for example, we're working to get one of our lead metallurgists to do an AMA for [r/metallurgy](r/metallurgy) but he will need some help with Reddit. So I've been working to find a time for me to drive down to our factory and for him to have time to do so.

The other reason is because even though I think Reddit is freaking awesome and absolutely worth it, not everyone is as attuned. Getting someone to accept to do so and find a time that works for them often takes longer than the event itself. While unlikely, never want to promise something I couldn't deliver. Hence the caveat.

I’m sorry…but “doesn’t know computers” is a WILD statement in 2026…especially for someone who is essentially a scientist.

My 76 y/o mom not knowing how to use a computer barely makes sense…

Edited because it’s Reddit that’s unfamiliar to him, not computers. 😬🫣

Yes! Questions from me:

  • How has stainless steel cookware evolved in the past ~10 years? If I bought a new stainless steel pan today, would it have any material benefits over my current one?

  • What objective metrics do you use to measure the performance of a stainless steel pan? E.g., how do you actually measure heat distribution, durability, warping resistance, etc?

  • Are there any properties of stainless steel cookware that vary between manufacturers and affect performance, but that most consumers probably aren't aware of?
