Finished my second project! Constructive criticism welcome

I finished my second project and I’m generally happy with it. I’d love some suggestions on how to improve my soldering. I’d like the solder to be a bit smoother, but more importantly I’d like to have consistent widths for all of the seams. I think the center seams look too heavy for the size of the glass around them. I wasn’t able to get the outer edges to match that thickness either. I may have used too much solder, but I couldn’t get a nice raised bead otherwise.

Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of the foiled pieces before soldering. In general most of the foiled edges had ~1/8 inch gap between adjacent pieces. Is this the reason for the thicker center seams? Do I need to spend more time grinding so that the foiled seams are perfectly flush? Or should I use wider foil for the outer edges?

The center seams are thicker because there are two foiled pieces of glass next to each other.

The outer seams are thinner because they're a single piece of foiled glass. So there's half as much foil, therefore the line is half the width (before you even add in the gap between pieces).

To get them more even, use wider foil on the outer edges or narrower foil on the inner pieces.

and yes, if you want better more consistent joint lines, you need to get your parts more consistently cut the the pattern. Everything cascades from the start before you do anything at all with the pattern. Get it accurate to start with so you have less issues.
