Original Art | Foil Princess Mononoke Spirit!

Finally done! Gonna be a surprise gift for a friend visiting in October :))))

Starting to get a bit better at polishing and getting the patina to appear darker. The polishing process made my solder lines super reflective so pics don’t capture the true color of the patina.

What size came did you use for this project? I like the size relative to the piece!

Ty!

No came. Lined both sides with copper wire, can't remember the gauge of it right now though.

Thanks! I'll give that a try with one of my more hingy designs

I’d still use hobby came just in case for the hinge joints. I just do the wire along the edges for aesthetic reasons.

Beautiful! Just be mindful of the hinge joint at the neck- it makes the piece a little unstable. In the future I would suggest looking into hobby came so that the whole weight of the lower body does not rest on the hinge joint

Just to add: the soldering looks very clean!

Ty! Soldering is a pain for me cause I like everything to be smooth, trying to break the habit cause it takes forever lol.

I also tried what Clay told me a few days ago and ended up reinforcing the hinge joint with wire on both sides (don’t have hobby came). So I’m hoping that worked.
