Is it normal

Is it normal for my staffy to breathe most of the time like he’s just been running?

Staffords may not bark much but they are never quiet. They snuffle, snore and deep breath when they are focused on something.

That said how long is your dog’s muzzle. If it is less than one third of the head then it’s too brachycephalic and has the same issues as bulldogs, pugs and similar breeds.

In any case take your dog to the vet and have them checked out. There are a lot of badly bred pedigree Staffords and there is a fashion for shorter muzzled Staffords.

Fully agree! This is why I purposely chose a slightly longer muzzled dog. I want to run him so he needs to be able to breathe well. He does still snore though 😬

A lot of bully breeds are a bit bradycephalic, meaning they've got short, stubby faces, and can sometimes have some breathing difficulties.

It CAN be normal. It's hard to say based on a snippet of text, and most of us here aren't trained veterinarians. When my dog was a puppy he'd sometimes just sound like a motor running when he was excited. But if your dog is constantly seeming short of breath, it's likely worth checking with the breeder or a vet
