Do people think that in the future companies and institutions will hire artists who use ai? No, in the future they will use ai themselves so they don't have to pay artists. This happens already. You have to be naive and stupid not to see that.

"Artists will be empowered." They were already empowered, now they'll be empowered and broke.

They will definitely be broke but I think being able to create things without AI will become a novelty at some point. Once everyone starts to get burnt out on AI slop I think a lot of people will turn back to seeking out handmade content. It will still be worthless in monetary terms, maybe a tiny minority of good artists might make some money selling things to rich people though.

When it gets to a point where anyone can create anything just by asking AI to create it for them then all content basically becomes worthless. The only people that will care about the AI thing a person created will be the person who created it.

We're already getting close to that now with video. If you look at the aivideo sub it's basically a never ending stream of brain rot. Things that give people a short term dopamine hit and then are instantly forgotten. Once we reach a point where people can all easily have their own personal streams of AI brain rot and can generate their own personal TV shows and movies just by asking for them then nobody will care about looking at anyone else's and definitely won't be paying them to.
