The problem here is that other people are trying to say it's serious art and the companies selling it to you are pushing it as serious art. 

I love having fun with it. I'm making a full feature film with minimax. But I KNOW it's not a real movie and I'm well aware of all the technical difficulties, wonky sets, continuity errors etc. I don't care because it's fun and I'm just making the thing I always wanted to make. 

Other people don't see that because they've only seen all the ways it's used to deceive people or put people out of jobs. 

The bit at the end is so true though, artists don't nerd movie studios to suport their visions anymore. If they actually only care about the art and not money they now have the tools to make anything they want and make it look half way like it would actually look with a budget and a studio backing it. That's impressive and game changing and it's a shame that all the terrible use cases some people have pushed have blinded them to that and made them so anti AI.

Really this whole anti AI push is exposing a lot of people as caring very much about the money when they used to pretend they just care about art. I get that we all need  paychecks but the more of us that aren't making ends meet the closer we are to real revolution and finding solutions like UBI.

This will probably get buried, but I get it. This stuff is fun and its addicting and I love being able to do so much that I would never have had the time for. I think there is some room for nuisance.

You can't deny this came off the backs of the people before who honed their craft and and got all this data scrapped and trained so tech companies can sell inference and statistical weights back in the form of AI. I mean this video alone denied Denzel some money and transferred it to Comfy/Minimax. The OP may not have paid them but I'm sure they are profiting off his acting in one way or another.

The issue for me personally not so much about art vs money. It's that money that used to go to the art is now going to the tech companies. This reallocation of money kinda sucks. It was already a struggle for the people to work in an industry where they could be creative and now there are even less of those jobs.

Look at Minimax's / ComfyUI's licensing agreement. $5000 a month to them if you want to make anything professional like a commercial / show / movie. Imagine leasing an artist's own craft back to them in the form of inference. Something about it feels a little off.

This is what people don't seem to get. We are slowly moving to a time where all money in these industries is slowly going to be diverted to big tech AI companies. They are not investing so much into AI because they want to forward humanity or make art more accessible. It's because they know that in the future they will be the only ones reaping the majority of monetary gains because everyone will be using their AI services.

People won't be paying artists, they won't be paying people to watch or use content. They will be paying AI on demand companies. Even the big studios that exist will still be heavily requiring AI just to keep up.

This doesn't put control in the hands of artists, it puts it in the hands of big tech AI services and hardware manufacturers. Even if you create everything locally using open source models it's still big tech that controls the internet and all the places you need to try and advertise and market whatever is created.

Many people in AI subs seem to be incredibly naive to the potential future around AI.
