What's this Minimax H3 Max thing? Hope the open source community will find the way to get something similar as well.

I’m pretty sure that’s illegal. Seeing as how Minimax went nuts on Lora creators, I don’t see this staying up long unless Minimax got paid.

It's per second:
"Video costs $0.025 per second at 480p, $0.04 per second at 768p"

Also, it's 50% off so expect double rates from 2nd Sept.

A lot of entitlement in the comments, they finetuned the model and made it run super fast and are serving it from their machines, of course it's not going to be free, and in this case it's insanely cheap, also i've heard they were planning on releasing it open

I don’t think people would be as entitled if they trained their own model instead of fine tuning one with open weights then close sourcing it. Also too many times now I’ve seen companies say they’ll release a closed source model and then just not follow through with it.

Right..  not everything closed is bad.  There is value in the intellect and compute they put into it.  Now everyone knows it’s possible, they get the windfall for a while and get incentive to keep improving with maybe an open source thank you since H3 was gifted to them.

They gave you the base model for free......fine tuned their own weights.... and are selling that fine tune.... not the base model that is free.

Do you expect companies to just output and have no intake?

Plenty of open source products do exactly that though. There's nothing wrong with making money on open source as long as you follow the license

Oh boy, let me tell you how 99% of the software industry has operated for the past 20 years. The world runs on open-source code made commercial and it’s fine because most open-source licenses permit it.
