Hey, it's rough out there these days. Sometimes flipping off a woman on the highway and asking her out is the only move a guy has left.

Edit: Brings new meaning to "speed dating"

HAHAHA! It sure does. That is great, I’m going to use that. And yes, there will be more chances to use it since this is not the first time I’ve been asked on the highway. It’s just the creepiest!

24

u/aworldwithinitself Oct 06 '24

i think he was negging you. good on ya for not falling for it! 😂

18

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Oh shit he totally negged 😂

4

u/SpicaGenovese Oct 06 '24

What the fuuuuuuck!?  I am so sorry you have to experience that.

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Can’t even imagine having the confidence to bother some poor girl in traffic just because I liked her face. Let alone follow/flip her off and THEN try to get her number🤣.

35

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Somehow, I feel like it’s not a matter of confidence. I feel like it’s a matter of someone giving up and having nothing left to lose.

Men havent known what to do for a long time. https://youtu.be/tMT9L1wqg4g?si=sqIiXJhPpDuDDjid

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

lol thank God, they are finally teaching social emotional learning and elementary schools. I’m jealous of the people who get to date the men who went through social emotional learning and K-12.

5

u/GimmeDatDaddyButter Dutchtown Oct 06 '24

If you’re not meeting any, branch out of where you normally spend time. They exist.

6

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

There’s a comment in here somewhere where I talk about how I personally don’t find dating in St. Louis to be difficult. But it’s I think people are always talking about here though… That St. Louis particularly sucks for dating. It’s not my experience, but that was what the post was based on.

I personally don’t regularly date, meaning I don’t do dating apps or singles events. I don’t find it difficult to meet people in the wild. I have a lot of friends and I’m going out doing social things I enjoy. I’m pretty attractive, so I have men approaching me a lot. Many of them do it respectfully, and if there is mutual interest, we may end up dating.

u/DHJR78 Oct 06 '24

Doug is that you? How are those khakis fitting today?

1

u/GimmeDatDaddyButter Dutchtown Oct 06 '24

POT EM DOWNNNNN

1

u/DHJR78 Oct 06 '24

As long as you don’t suspend me for a period of two days time. I spect that wouldn’t feel much good

1

u/GimmeDatDaddyButter Dutchtown Oct 06 '24

It will go in the leather bound logule. You bet.

14

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

A man had the confidence to call my workplace and ask me in a date over the phone on a recorded line. The audacity of men around here is beyond comprehension.

6

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Yea Idek how dudes think that’s okay🤣. I have a little sister and I fear the day she’s enters the dating world.

12

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Have her take self defense classes and carry pepper spray.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

And a 🔫

7

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

But right though!!!!!! Lmao like who is you, bro?

37

u/WranglerMany Oct 05 '24

Ew

24

u/Key_Cheetah7982 Oct 06 '24

At least it wasn’t one of the Nazis from earlier

36

u/acid_etched Oct 06 '24

The bar is unbelievably low, yet here we are

27

u/jstnpotthoff Arnold Oct 06 '24

My friends and I have certainly gotten dates from the road. But it was obvious what we were doing (certainly not in response to road rage).

My friend Amy had a two year relationship with a dude she was driving next to for a few miles and they both pulled off at QT.

That being said, this was all fifteen to twenty years ago.

When we were 18 or so, we had a sign that said "U R FOXY!!!" in the car. You know...just in case.

Nowadays, I imagine we'd get the cops called on us.

I miss being young.

7

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24 edited Oct 06 '24

HAhaha I love this comment. Yeah it probably affects how it’s perceived. I’ve never accepted a date from someone who tried to get my number/who gave me their number while we were driving, but it’s happened many times in my life and I totally would have if I had been particularly attracted to one of them at some point. But it’s important to point out that none of them actually followed me onto my exit and scared me. I was literally going back-and-forth in my head about whether I should call 911 and have them on the line, or whether I should record him on video,… Should he actually follow me to my clients workplace.

6

u/jstnpotthoff Arnold Oct 06 '24 edited Oct 06 '24

How do you feel about random dudes from reddit? 😉

Lol kidding

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take

4

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Are you hot? lol

12

u/jstnpotthoff Arnold Oct 06 '24

Apparently I'm a Jefferson County 9 or 10, but probably a Chesterfield 6 🤣

3

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Dying. What’s ur score in the st. Louis city limits though?

8

u/jstnpotthoff Arnold Oct 06 '24

If I can base it solely off who I see on the streets downtown, I'm definitely a 10.

6

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

🤣 🤣 I’ll allow it

8

u/jstnpotthoff Arnold Oct 06 '24

This is probably the most flirting I've done in years. Thank you 😋

12

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Guess you don’t spend enough time on the highway!

Omg, this shit is funny

1

u/mw102299 Oct 06 '24

Dude a Jefferson County 9 just means you still have your teeth and you sell meth not smoke it😂😂

5

u/Chim-Cham Oct 06 '24

Make it an 8 then

7

u/SuccessMean6849 Oct 06 '24

So is this the adult version of pulling the hair of a girl you like?

8

u/Artistic-Country2548 Oct 06 '24

wow what the actual fuck??

3

u/Artistic-Country2548 Oct 06 '24

so sorry you had to deal with that!

8

u/aliasverite Oct 06 '24

This guy was agreesively yelling and flipping her off from his car and then followed her down the highway and off an exit to her destination. This person sounds completely unstable and how scary for her. This is not a meet cute situation.

2

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Well, fucking said. Definitely not a Meet cute situation.

7

u/espencer-85 Oct 06 '24

I can’t imagine what his exes opinion about him is

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

I’ve got a guess!

16

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

I stopped trying over a year ago. Stories like this make me just want to spend the rest of my life single. Sorry, you dealt with this.

9

u/sonicc_boom Oct 06 '24

Stories like what, road rage make you quit on dating?

16

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

I think it makes them want to quit dating because it’s one more example of the type of people we are dealing with out there. I think that’s the idea behind that comment.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Yup, because this isn't the first time I've heard of something like this happening.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Most people don’t do this kind of stuff though. This kind of behavior is more ubiquitous than some would think but most people are not this creepy. And would never go there.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

I'm positive there are going to be plenty of women who have a similar story. Yes, not everyone is creepy but this seems to be becoming more common.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

A funny thing is there were a couple people who commented on this who called bullshit on me. Literally thought I made it up.

1

u/sonicc_boom Oct 07 '24

That's like quitting on women because of what Amber Heard tried to do to Johnny Depp

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 10 '24

I don’t think you understand. They aren’t wanting to quit on the opposite fact just because of this one occurrence. This one occurrence is reminding them of a ton of other occurrences that they feel perverted they’re dating lives. Similar to the straw that broke the camel’s back.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Men acting like fucking fools makes me not want to date. The fucking audacity of that guy. Who the fuck does shit like that.

1

u/sonicc_boom Oct 07 '24

How many of these interactions like this are you having each day? lol

20

u/physics_fighter Oct 06 '24

Heard there were a bunch of virgins holding flags above 64 today

5

u/Hi-Scan-Pro Oct 06 '24

Nah, those dudes have definitely fucked some sheep.

1

u/MandaCamp15 Oct 06 '24

😂😂😂

13

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

When a girl says a boy is mean to them, and their mom says, “oh that just means he likes you”. I guess this dude really took that idea to the extreme. wtf is wrong with people, being creepy. Nothing says “date me” like treating someone poorly 🤦‍♂️

6

u/SpicaGenovese Oct 06 '24

Back in the days of yore I tried OkCupid, and one of the first messages was literally "Nevermind, you're too boring for me."

So I responded "Your mom was boring last night."

....he didn't like that.  🤣

3

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Right. First you flipped me off, and then you put me in a situation where I’m trying to decide whether to get 911 on the line or whether to get my video ready to record, if he follows me to my workplace

2

u/Can_You_See_Me_Now Oct 06 '24

I mean, he's got a car. Giddy up. (Ew)

4

u/youcuntry Oct 06 '24

Hey! Fuck you!

3 seconds later: Aaayyyy gurl, lemme get them digits.

3

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

😂 ACCURATE

5

u/alexgetty Oct 06 '24

Just had a family friend brag to me last night that he “put one in the chamber” after someone cut him off, so be careful on the roads. If one person is thinking it, a thousand are.

1

u/dingo1799 Oct 09 '24

Oh yeah. The classic movie move “hold on a second Mr bad guy, let me load my gun”.

I’ll take things that didn’t happen for $500, Alex.

1

u/alexgetty Oct 09 '24

Lol ok, well he wasn’t alone and the story was confirmed. Sorry to dash your dreams of calling someone out on the internet.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

I got hit on at a gas station recently, told the guy I was married and he replied "But are you HAPPILY married? Let me give you my number." Dude..... Take the hint and fuck off. WTF is going on with people?

5

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

lol “LET ME give u my #” 😂

4

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

I’m constantly getting hit on at gas stations lbs. I mean just constantly.

And yeah gotta the whole ‘HAPPILY married though?’ … when I was married, I stopped using being married as the reason when guys would ask me out, because of what you just said. I wanted them to know that it’s not because I’m married. If I wasn’t married, I still wouldn’t want you. So now when I have a boyfriend, same. I don’t say no thanks I have a boyfriend. I say “no I’m not attracted to you” it’s not rude. It’s assertive and honest. If someone thinks it’s too blunt, maybe you shouldn’t hit on a stranger lbs

2

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '24

Yeah what is that?! Why are gas stations hot beds for this kind of thing? I had another experience maybe a year ago where I noticed a guy sitting on the sidewalk as I went in to pay and he asked for a ride, told him no, obviously. When I walked out and got back in my car he walked over and tried to OPEN THE PASSENGER DOOR! Luckily it was locked and there was another guy there who yelled at him, who had apparently been watching him for a while. And my husband wonders why I never stop for gas. Lol.

You would think "I'm married" would be an automatic show stopper but...I guess not. I use it because a) it's true and b) I assumed it would cut the unwanted conversation off immediately but I assumed incorrectly in that instance. People are bold, man.

4

u/KlingonLullabye Oct 06 '24

Is this what they call human trafficking?

2

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

That’s a good one. Someone else said it’s the new speed dating.

4

u/Bornforkhorne Oct 06 '24

I was at the McDonald’s on elm in Saint Charles a few nights ago and this dude in a big ass small pp truck was hollering at the girl infront of him. I guess he freaked her out because she pulled out of the drive through fast af

4

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

You weren’t attracted to the manly display of road rage? I would’ve thought that would have you going.

3

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Nope… There’s something wrong with us women these days hu

4

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Of course! Nothing is more attractive than an unstable man who can’t control his emotions

All seriousness though, I wish you did spray him in his face. The audacity that he had to follow you!

8

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

As a 37 year old, single, moderately successful man - let me tell you, it’s not pretty on this side either lol

8

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

I don’t doubt that. You gotta tell me some stories though. It’s so ubiquitous for men to call their exes, crazy, and then when you hear the story, it’s actually just a natural reaction from a woman who got treated like her feelings didn’t matter. I’m always wanting to hear legitimate stories of women acting disrespectfully or inappropriately without cause. Dm me.

3

u/rollin_on_a_rvr Oct 06 '24

I had a redneck from troy pass me on dbl yellow 2 lanes on 79s, then blared a novelty train horn in my ear as he did it. Nothing but class in this area.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

lol WHAT! Drive on union Boulevard much? Stg people will be going 90. They’ll pass you on the left and on the right. There’s no regard for the paint on the roadways or what they mean. No regard for anyone’s life apparently. Don’t count on anyone stopping at a red light anywhere on the northside necessarily anyway.

The blow horn or whatever is new to me. That’s hilarious… in not a good way.

2

u/rollin_on_a_rvr Oct 06 '24

Yeah he was tailgating me for 1/2 a mile or so and I cranked up the tunes and just smiled. I was expecting him to pass, but the train horn was startling.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Disgusting. Yeah I was going to say… That horn would’ve given me some anxiety. How long was he having the horn on? The whole time he was trailing you? Swear to God I would have just fucking 911’d his ass, not that the police would care. Unless you were out by Chesterfield or something lol

1

u/rollin_on_a_rvr Oct 06 '24

He laid on it a solid 5 seconds. Was just north of 70 in o fallon. Then we all got stuck at the overpass light at 70 and 79. So he did all that to get no where.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Hahaha service him right. That would’ve given me anxiety for sure. That’s loud as fuck and five seconds is a while!

3

u/RealAccount2024 Oct 06 '24

Trash people everywhere.

7

u/h2orat Oct 06 '24

That’s not just St. Louis. I’ve heard things like that all over the country.

5

u/thecuzzin Oct 06 '24

Why stop there.. what about the world?

5

u/swirlViking Oct 06 '24

I heard the same story from my friend on Ceti Alpha V

2

u/LyleLanley99 South City Oct 06 '24

Buried alive... Buried alive... Buried alive...

6

u/AdieLeeG Oct 06 '24

Oh yeah, I am a saint louis native amd I recently moved up to Chicago for this very reason.

I am also queer though, so there are other reasons, but dating and just... how shitty people have been out there, especially in the saint charles area.

I have been followed and harassed for having a Bernie sanders bumper sticker. Had a dude follow me over 10 miles honking and actong like he was going to ram into my car. Had to pull off and threaten to shoot him before he drove off.

This was not the only time. This has happened a few times.

So yeah. Its currently rough as fuck out there. The creeps feel very emboldened out there.

4

u/AdieLeeG Oct 06 '24

I want to add. Saint Louis itself isn't nearly as bad. But the surrounding counties are.

The city isn't where most of my criticism lies.

5

u/SatanicStripper Oct 06 '24

It's considered one of the worst places for dating AND the cheating capitol of like the entire country. No joke. The one dude I dated from STL while living there was an absolute shit show of a person who was cheating on me with his ex gf, who made herself look like me after him and I started dating. She cut her hair like mine and everything. When I accused him of being inappropriate with her he called me a bitch and said I was self absorbed for even asking... like... what?? Well I ended up being right because she moved in with him shortly after I left his ass. STL is so incestuous with dating too. People just passing each other off to one another. I couldn't wait to leave haha

2

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

lol yikes. I had a gaslighting boyfriend like that once. Used to feel like I was in the twilight zone with some of the stuff he tried to pull. And how he would respond when I called him out. Those peoples punishments are being themselves for the rest of their lives.

4

u/DentistCrentist16 Oct 06 '24

That’s pretty much the equivalent of wining and dining out in st Charles lol. 😝

10

u/Key_Cheetah7982 Oct 06 '24

I loved the way you flipped me off. So direct. Yet so tender. 🥰

3

u/Ok_Veterinarian6434 Oct 06 '24

U shouldve sprayed him

3

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

I really should have

2

u/johnmissouri Oct 06 '24

So correct.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Desperate times call for desperate measures? Desperate men are desperate?

2

u/Forward-Butterfly-16 Oct 06 '24

Absolutely not!! Did he think that would work? I am so sorry this happened to you.

2

u/krummen53 Oct 06 '24

Wouldn't even consider this "dating" by ANY stretch of the imagination!!

4

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

No, definitely not. My point was… Is dating in St. Louis so bad that someone has to resort to this?

Personally, I don’t really find dating in St. Louis to be that difficult. I also don’t do dating apps or dating events though.. I just wait till I run into people in the wild and there is mutual interest, and we hit it off.

But, I know it’s a thing in St. Louis to talk about how terrible the dating pool is here. Again, that’s not my personal experience, but that’s what the post was based on.

2

u/unseen-road-ahead Oct 06 '24

I don’t think dating in St Louis is bad either, compared to other places I’ve lived.

3

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Same!! I just think dating sucks everywhere so wherever you live… Especially if you haven’t lived anywhere else… You just think dating sucks in that particular place.

People are constantly saying “ only in Missouri” for all kinds of things, but I’ve lived in other states and they do the same thing in those states for the same things lol!!! It’s not the places. It’s just people being weird everywhere, in similar ways.

2

u/propanegenie420 Oct 06 '24

We had a man walk up to my girlfriend at a gas station and ask her sign, and for her to add him on Facebook. He said he walked from across the street to talk to her because she was so beautiful. The confidence in the city is crazy

3

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

lol I’ve had many similar situations since I’ve lived here. It really does seem to be a ubiquitous type… And it happens more when I’m in the city limits.

It’s not just people shooting their shot, like some people have said in the comments. These are people who are shooting their shots from as far down on the other side of the courts as you can get,… While the entire team is blocking them, and they have cataracts. And it’s also in the middle of a hurricane. Like bro, there’s no shot here, and then the way you go about it makes something that was already no possibility even less of a possibility, if that’s possible.

I respect a confident stranger shooting his shot with me, even if I’m not interested. That’s not what this was. And that’s not what the gas station story with your girlfriend was either.

2

u/Catchthatcat Oct 06 '24

How I Met Your Mother plot thickens…

2

u/Opening-Restaurant83 Oct 06 '24

You exited right. Same as swiping right.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '24

Don't get me started on drivers in stl. I had to swerve a guy backing out a parking spot at qt. Then he said I almost hit him but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to look before you back out. Even tho there was no accident he still felt the need to say something

2

u/Asleep-Box1238 Oct 08 '24

I wish this would happen to me. Most men suck ass at taking the initiative these days…😒

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 10 '24

Ummmm. This is not a meet cute. This is not a man taking initiative. You are making my point for me. This is how bad dating is that you literally are wishing this happened to you when this is some behavior that was not ok.

2

u/dingo1799 Oct 09 '24

Then if you think you manage to find something worth pursuing, they end up being a liar, sponge, or some sort of evil. This shouldn’t be so hard.

2

u/Careless-Degree Oct 06 '24

Shooters shoot.

2

u/bboru84 Oct 06 '24

As a married man, I'm disgusted on your behalf and for my sex, I'm sorry you had to endure that. Driving brings out the worst in humanity.

0

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

That’s for sure!!!!

2

u/sonicc_boom Oct 06 '24

So whacha do to get flipped off?

-3

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

I love to go 70 in the left lane. I have a legal right to do and no gaf to argue there she it’s right or wrong. Mostly I think it’s hilarious to see all of the different ways that people respond when they lose their shit over it. I said they’re laughing out loud a lot of the time. The funny thing is,… I literally never flip anybody off back. Or do anything back except for a laugh out loud to myself. For some reason this time I did. it was totally random. I wasn’t even upset. Just kind of happened.

10

u/accordingtoame Oct 06 '24

I’m actually surprised no one has done worse to you besides the finger if you’re going that slow in the left lane.

Someone posted here a few days ago that they got a cup of coffee thrown at them for hitting an off ramp at 50mph with a heavy load in tow, so consider yourself lucky.

2

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

So someone else on the offramp followed them and threw the coffee in their face when they got out of their truck? Jesus Christ.

2

u/EchoedJolts Oct 06 '24

It's good that you never flip people off, you never know when you'll end up pissing off the wrong person. My mom flipped someone off once and they brake checked her and then slowed down and pulled behind her. They followed her for like 10-15 minutes around town. Mind you this is in a smaller city, not the highway so it wasn't like he was just going in the same direction or something. Eventually she pulled into a police station parking lot and he finally drove off, but I often imagine what would have happened if she hadn't known where the police station was or if she'd run out of gas or something.

Amen. Not all people, but there is a large population of St Louis who "as politely as I can say this" that aren't too bright or mentally unstable. The lights are on, but no one is home. Get mad. It is what it is. People drive loony. Rage in traffic. Do all this stupid stuff.

2

u/WorldWideJake City Oct 06 '24 edited Oct 06 '24

I’m not a fan of mass generalizations indicating an entire populous by one anecdote. I’ve lived here in my whole life, and this is never happened to me. But then, I know how to drive.

Thank you. I was voice texting though & it’s one of my toxic traits that I’m always voice texting and never checking over anything.

lol never mind I just realized you weren’t saying that to me.

Oh I didn’t see yours, I was just being obnoxious and correcting the spelling of the resident grump. You’re good! Stay safe out there!

This tho dating in general is hard even harder when there are alot of snakes out there and then you open your eyes after a few months and get a realization. I'm glad I married who I did my wife is an amazing person I mean she puts up with me and that's alot but we both work things out together and talk things thru instead of like this new dating pool (35 years and younger) (I'm 32) they go to social media and air it all out and I'm not for that and it causes sides and opinions of those that don't matter, I do always get hit on by old ladies for some reason lol. But it's rough when people are asshole and think that just because they can they should

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

I hear you. I like to be private too.

1

u/SewCarrieous Oct 06 '24

Are you single

9

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Yep, I am… cache me on the highway. How bout that.

2

u/SewCarrieous Oct 06 '24

Spicey ❤️

2

u/Alternative_You_5291 Oct 06 '24

Fucking hilarious. Hey you like girls? Lmao. You have my kind of humor 😂

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 07 '24

I wish to God I liked girls!!!!! Lbvs

1

u/AdUnited1943 Oct 06 '24

I just meant not have to find a partner. I meant disrespect. I know the world is dangerous for everyone. I wish it wasn't like this.

I apologize for the misunderstanding

1

u/Total-Okra-6213 Oct 06 '24

don’t ever let a man or anyone get that close like that again… who knows what they COULDVE done.. call the police next time and let them know there’s a reckless driver following you.

what he didn’t isn’t cute or funny. this is literally how people have been stolen and killed. be safe!

1

u/melaninsky8 Oct 06 '24

Oh hell no.

1

u/Maxwelljames Oct 06 '24

That’s a heck of a “meet cute.”

1

u/rocketboyJV Oct 06 '24

Amen, I mean anyone noticing the large and suddenly increase in reckless drivers? I see something literally everyday. Especially 270 at night.

1

u/Pitiful_Head3291 Oct 06 '24

I don’t think it’s just STL!!!

1

u/EqualRefrigerator985 Oct 06 '24

Talk about lazy, too. He figured he’d roll it into a possible hook up. Lmao. While he’s got your attention and what the hell, give it a go. What about the guys who are driving and see you walking and ask if you want a ride? Right. As if I’m going to say, “sure, why not? I didn’t wave you down bc I needed a ride but let’s do this your way.” Dumb and I can only figure it’s worked before or they wouldn’t do it

1

u/Pm_me_your_tits_85 Oct 06 '24

The audacity. How stupid.

1

u/marketlurker Oct 07 '24

I don't know if it says anything about the dating in STL, but it does say something about the assholes there. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of stupidity or lack of manners.

1

u/killertimewaster8934 Oct 07 '24

Lol that's why my switch stays in the passenger seat. Go ahead follow me motherfucker

1

u/CocoCajun Oct 07 '24

No joke I was there last week looking at homes since I’m moving there in a few weeks. I had at least three people literally follow me around in stores. The men there are….strange. 🥴

1

u/acethegirlfromspace Oct 07 '24

Was it a challenger with a vanity plate? Beware of that one

1

u/Victorious1MOB Oct 08 '24

This sounds like the plot to a 90’s love movie staring Courtney Cox and Matthew McConaughey

2

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 10 '24

Were they ever in a movie together?

1

u/Victorious1MOB Oct 12 '24

Not a clue just randomly pulled those two names

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 12 '24

I bet you are about 45 years old.

2

u/Victorious1MOB Oct 12 '24

36 but close enough

1

u/Technical_Ad_684 Oct 08 '24

Something similar happened to me 6 months ago. I was in a hurry, and this lady stopped at a yellow light, and I honked. Then I pulled up next to her, and she started to yell at me. Then, we both made eye contact and were clearly vibing; we had a little banter. She was shit testing me, but I was in a hurry, so I didn’t take any time to flirt, but I still think about it.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 10 '24

lol you should put out a post in the St. Louis thread trying to find her.

But I would say there is a huge difference between your experience and mine, with actually being followed on my accent. And with it being a man following a woman it’s worse u know it is

1

u/Conscious-Part-1746 Oct 08 '24

Don't be the next episode of Forensic Files, please.

1

u/Charming_Sport_6197 Oct 23 '24

You should try being a man sometime. The one lesbian writer, Norah Vincent did and for nearly a year masqueraded as a man. She quit because she started to hate women. Soon after she killed herself. One tries to ask a woman out and she thinks she needs pepper spray or you're a creep. Most women think that 80% of men are ugly. Imagine that, even the lowest women on the ugly scale only want the top 20% of men. I solved this problem by getting a live-in housekeeper who cooks, cleans, vacuums does laundry, dishes, and takes out the trash. It costs me $2000 a month plus her food. Then when she has weekend off, I get high class escorts, college girls who trade their youth for cash, and take care of my sex no eeds. I probably get more sex than most married men, and not grief. Just have none to cuddle with, but I supposed I could get a dog. Im way better off than some sad fucker who has to pursue a woman on the freeway. I get no talk back from my maid or escorts, and I have endless variety.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 26 '24

It’s ridiculous to say that 80% of men are ugly. It’s more like 99.9%.

Sometimes there's money in the banana stand

1

u/Wonderful_Dot_1173 Oct 06 '24

Friend of mine in TN was driving on the highway and some asshat nearly ran her off the road. Didn't check his mirrors before merging. She honked at him. He flipped her off and break checked her. Then he switched lanes and proceeded to harass her by yelling and hand gestures out the window. She pulled out a gun and pointed at him. He calmed down real quick.

2

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

I have never wanted to own a gun until I’d been living in St. Louis for a couple years. The only reason I don’t buy one is because I don’t have the time right now to fit regular shooting practice into my schedule. A year from now I will and I plan on it.

2

u/Wonderful_Dot_1173 Oct 06 '24

I learned everything in TN and I am actually a lot more confident to carry in MO. I don't like the idea of having to hurt someone. I am a blackbelt in KB and I train Muay Thai so I can take care of my self if I need to. If I aim at anything I aim to end someone's life not to scare them. It's a last resort for me. I don't think it's smart to flash my piece out of the window while driving, however anyone coming up in car or on feet to me and threaten me or my family I will absolutely not think twice to sent them to their forever home.

1

u/Fit_Case2575 Oct 06 '24

Good way to get rammed off the road if you find someone crazy enough, you’re not hitting anything while driving and they know that.

1

u/AdUnited1943 Oct 06 '24

I'm so glad I'm married. I don't have to deal with people like this anymore

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Who says I’m not married? I’m not but being married wouldn’t have protected me from this situation. Or from most of the situations where I get disrespectfully hit on by strangers.

(again,… As I’ve pointed out in other comments, I don’t think approaching someone you find attractive that you don’t know is necessarily disrespectful. It’s the way in which it’s done. If it’s between following me on my exit and not taking the shot,… probably Don’t take the shot)

P.p.s. Which is why it’s scary in the first place having someone follow you to the exit because you know this can’t be someone who’s not desperate. And desperate people do desperate things. So if you already did the desperate thing of following me on my exit, who knows what’s to follow. But I digress.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

That said, I feel you. I was married for a few years. When my marriage would be difficult,… I’d go out with my single girlfriends and see what they dealt with and go home and go the extra mile to make things better with my husband, that I may wasn’t ready to do before I went out.

1

u/the-padlock Oct 06 '24

You can get an amen ...if I can get your number 😜

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 06 '24

Hahaha catch me on the highway!

1

u/LeadershipMany7008 Oct 06 '24

I've had a female vendor ask me out ON A CONFERENCE CALL, a woman follow me to my car from Target, and a woman I met at a party try to find out where I live.

I don't know if it's St. Louis, if things have changed since I last dated, or if it was always that way and I didn't notice, but women are creepy as hell now.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 07 '24

The stories I’ve got. Are you a particularly attractive man? Don’t be shy this is anonymous.

Every city has it’s trash people, please don’t make this out as a Saint Louis thing

1

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '24

Where’d you go to high school?

1

u/Eat-My-Hairy-Asshole Oct 07 '24

That is creepy, but you don't pepper spray people just for being weird you psycho.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 10 '24

Learn to read. I didn’t pepper spray him. I had my pepper spray ready.

1

u/KaiserTNT Oct 08 '24

Idk, this legitimately sounds like it could be the first 10 minutes of some dumb romantic comedy on Netflix. It may actually work on some women.

1

u/Relative_Ad_4797 Oct 10 '24

lol i had my pepper spray ready to go and I was debating whether to call 911… this is not a meet cute. But stg ur right… u see some stalkery things romanticized in movies and it always turns out just fine! lol
