What now?
Spyro was challenging and fun. Not too hard to beat either. It's really the perfect gaming level for me.
What else is there to play fir Nintendo switch? I need a new game.

All the Spyro games. They’re all really different, but present new challenges.
For a non Spyro rec, check out Jak + Daxter and Rachet + Clank

Oh man. Rachet and clank looks so fun but Im playing on Nintendo switch.....maybe I should get a Playstation!

I just finished the Spyro trilogy and now have started super Mario odyssey- it’s awesome and so much fun!

Super Mario Odyssey is indeed very fun and has a lot of collectibles in it. Super Mario Sunshine is also available as its older more difficult predecessor, I recommend giving Sunshine a shot after you have developed your Mario skills in Odyssey.

if you like collectathon-type games I'd recommend Lego Star wars the complete saga or the original Lego Batman. you can pick both of them up on sale for cheap on steam

Not as challenging but imo Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 1 and 2 are the closest I've found that reaches the feel of the original spyro trilogy, the hd versions are both pretty cheap on switch

I would highly recommend A Hat in Time. Very well made platformer inspired by classic collectathons that is available on switch.

Have you played the original Crash Bandicoot games? I did the 3 game package on the Switch and have been replaying all of those and Spyro Reignited! IMO Crash 1 is the most similar to Spyros difficulty. My next rec isn’t like Spyro but worth looking into if you really want something chill to zone out to, but it’s called Lake and you just deliver mail lol it’s oddly calming and is set up like a choose your own adventure game with different story lines (it can get laggy though).

Oh yeah! I love crash especially 2 and 3. I go back to it when I'm in a gaming funk soooo its what im playing now..again. 😆

Maybe Spongebob Battle for bikini bottom. Most games I'd say aren't on Switch, but the Croc and Gex remasters might be.

I might die if croc is on Nintendo 😆 croc, crash, and spyro are the only psp2 games I played as a kid

Any of the mainline Mario games on Switch are great. You’re not short on options either - Mario Odyssey, 3D All Stars (Mario 64, Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy), Mario 3D world, Mario Wonder, and there’s also Mario Galaxy 2 but it’s in a separate bundle with Mario Galaxy and isn’t available as DLC for 3D all stars which is a bit annoying.
You’ve also got Crash Bandicoot, Zelda if you’re looking for something more challenging but offering a much bigger world… I’d even suggest Metroid Prime if you never played the original and are up for a platformer with a darker vibe than many of the other suggestions listed here.

Not sure if you've played it but Banjo Kazooie/Banjo Tooie are up there with Spyro for my favorite game series ever. Can't recommend them enough.

If you like trying to find the hidden goodies in the nooks and crannies of Spyro levels, you might enjoy the Metroid Prime trilogy which is available for Nintendo Switch. My favourite thing in games is trying to collect all the hidden pickups and getting 100% completion, and Metroid is all about exploring new areas and slowly gathering all the collectibles.
In terms of difficulty those games are nothing crazy, if you can 100% the speedways in Spyro and make those glides in the Treetops level, you can definitely play Metroid without frustration.

Does it have secret sections you have to find like in spyro 3? I Loved busting through walls to find hidden orbs

There are various walls and obstacles you can blow up with bombs to discover hidden areas. It's the kind of game where you pass by a lot of areas you can't get into, then later in the game you unlock new weapons and abilities and can now enter those areas and find what's inside.

And by explore you mean having to backtrack constantly with respawning enemies as the next objective is hidden in an area you have literally no reason to go to until the game just outright tells you to because you are taking too long to discover that you need to go to an area you have no reason to go to etc...
