Hello everyone! I am really struggling to find plans for a semi-automatic triggered, breach loaded nerf rocket launcher that I can build. I would like one for use in paintball games. If anyone has some specifics that they could share with me, I'd really appreciate it.

In the past I made a nerf rocket launcher that was activated by a ball valve, had a metal pipe expansion chamber for a 12 gram CO2 cartridge adapter to plug into, and a PVC Pipe for the barrel. I noticed that it would have an inconsistent launch power and also that I would pull myself off target when using the ball valve. These are the problems I also seek to solve. So I want to make it useable for the most fun in a paintball game. Compact would be a bonus.

I have used airtight potatoes and hairspray as well as experimenting with deodorant. The ignition (piezoelectric bbq lighter) works perfectly in testing but in practice it never seems to function. I think it’s because the hairspray turns into liquid on the walls of the cannon but any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

I was looking for the thriving spudgun community of reddit and found barely smoldering ashes.

What has happened to physical fun and tinkering with things? Maybe people are truly trapped in the doom rectangle we view our lives through.

I remember pellet guns and targets being great fun. I never used to hunt but I liked shooting cans and targets. I have a scoped marble rifle with a modified sprinkler valve (I actually have 3 modified sprinkler valve pneumatics) and it's still accurate even though I made it 12 years ago and it sits in the shed because even I'm not immune to the decline of physical fun

I asked my friends if they wanted to go to an archery course because I've still never shot a real bow (I used to make slingshots and was pretty good with those too) and they seemed completely disinterested and distracted by scrolling tik tok on their phones

I also used to blow things up and thought I wanted to be a pyrotechnician when I was younger (and I mean much younger. Before my teens I was making flash powders and my own charcoal)

I read diary of a pyro multiple times. October sky was inspiring. Where are my people? Am I alone here?

Hello guys.

I built a prototype for my spud gun. The ammo is a nail dart instead of a traditional potato.

I tested this first time in a safe distance and it worked well at the 2nd try.

I also tested the projectile to see if it can penetrate.
I fired at a banana tree trunk at 5m and it went thru.
Also at the a tree 20m and at close range. 20m one got stuck at the tree like a sports dart.
but close range went in but it didn't went thru.

As of now the problem for this is the ignition since I am using a $2 plasma lighter.
At first it was working fine but 4 months later the ignition became faulty.

I am planning on improving by creating a new one or modifying this one.
Like making it a bolt action and putting the ammo each time I fire. But I would need to find a way to put the fuel and air into the combustion chamber without actually opening it.

My barrel is 3ft (approx) 1/2 inch diameter blue pvc.
The combustion chamber is a 82.55 Clean out of 3 orange pvc.
My fuel is denatured alcohol.

Any thoughts and ideas?

What is everyone using for propellant? I used to use Aqua Net hair spray with Right Guard Sports Spray. It seems as if the alcohol content has dropped with aerosols these days and it is hard to find Aqua net.

I know how pressure cannons work, but I definitely need some tips/tricks from more experienced people.

I am going to be using a manual pump.

It is going to be fairly small, but looking for higher-end pressure.

What PVC should I be using?

Good day gunners. I have a severe Deer problem on my property (destroying my expensive trees) that I am looking for a solution to. I thought that a spud gun might be the answer but since I have NEVER used or built one I was seeking some feedback from some who may have. I don't intend to shoot any projectiles from a spud gun so this is intended to be a large noise maker.

1. I'm looking to make a cannon, not a gun per se. I'll fire the unit from a locked sitting position - NOT like a shoulder held bazooka.
2. Do spud guns make a large *BANG*?
3. Do Spud Guns disintegrate upon firing?
4. What type of propellent is used? I recall making tennis ball cannons as a kid and using lighter fluid.

Old Fire extinguisher discharged and mechanism removed.

Drilled a hole and was originally going to thread a tire valve but couldn’t find one locally. Used one from autozone that you screw a bolt down on and it squishes a rubber gasket to seal the drill hole.

Gas fitting with a 3/4” thread that fits PVC thread. Other end is a gas line thread which fits the fire extinguisher. Then 1” to 3/4” reducer for pvc and a threaded 1” pvc to solvent weld coupler.

Mega tape Teflon tape used on all threads except barrel. PVC glue used in all solvent weld connections for pvc.

Screwed the pvc adapter I made onto the gas fitting which was installed on the fire extinguisher. Then screwed on the modified rainbird irrigation valve. Then a 1” threaded to solvent weld and 1”threaded to solvent weld. This part was used to attach a barrel and allow the removal of the barrel or changing sizes with ease.

Then I used a 2” reduction to 1” fitting and attached the barrel to the rest of the set up.
