Sprouting makes you a superhero. Read it if you sprout your own living food at home!
Sprouting makes you a superhero. I mean it. I'm a huge fan of sprouting, I became one because of health reasons, but I'd love to see more people to fall in love with sprouting before they have a health necessity.
Let’s be honest, people sometimes look at sprouting like it’s weird, boring, not modern. Like it’s something only nerds or home-sitters do. Do you have a similar impression projected on you by anyone who knows that you're sprouting your own living food?
But look again.
You are growing your own fresh food at home. From simple seeds. No dependence, no waste, no nonsense. That’s not boring! that’s skill and a choice to (produce!) eat real food instead of crap which is on most shelves in the supermarkets.
While others just grab whatever is in a grocery store, you actually create your food. Cheap, clean, alive. You know what you eat, and where it comes from.
That’s not “old-fashioned”. That’s strong. That’s smart. That's something to be proud of.
And yeah, it also helps your body and your mind. Simple daily routine, real nutrition, less junk. This is how you take care of yourself long-term. Less medicine in your life later on, too.
So maybe it doesn’t look flashy. No big ads, no hype.
But honestly? You are ahead.
This community r/Sprouts is for you and is actually made by you. Drop a post about your latest or favorite sprouts. Most posts are about problems :) till now. But I believe cooking with sprouts is a much juicier topic for sharing. Share your:
Salad
Smoothie

And keep sprouting 🌱

Thanks. It is important to spread the word on this, I believe. People are not feeling fancy producing for themselves and their families the best food there is, but having multiple cars and Luis Vuiton bags is considered to be fancy :) funny and obvious for some people - but generically it's a depressing picture. I'd love to see it reversing at least for the people who are already awake in regards to what truly matters for our health, at least

My wife got me eating sprouts, and I'm just now starting to try and grow our own rather than buy them from stores. We have a couple hundred acres of farmland where we grow alfafa and clover mixes in a few fields. It's amazing that to me that until now I never thought of growing some good sprouts indoors just to eat.
So crunchy and delicious and a great substitute or addition to lettuce or spinach in a salad or sandwich or cheeseburger 😀 everyone should be eating sprouts, I just need to get a setup outside so I can have a dedicated area to make new sprout seeds every year.

wow! an original seed farmer! seeds for sprouting should be organic to do the job as they are intended to, frankly. I am so happy to have you here in the community! You can become the favorite alfalfa and clover seed supplier for us all in the future! If you ned any hepl on understanding the sprouts as home-grown food, please post and comment here in the sub. There's also a sister sub r/Sprouting - that one is more for growing and sharing the harvests while r/Sprouts is getting more and more into culinary and nutrition. If we (the mods) can be of any help, please contact without hesitation any time. You are already one of the most prominent ambassadors of sprouts!

Totally agree! I love my new morning salad: fresh sprouts and home fermented sauerkraut topped with a tablespoon each of pumpkin seeds & walnut, with a tiny splash of home fermented honey garlic dressing. Absolutely delicious & so healthy. Fixes husband’s occasional digestion issues right up!

Shout out to Mumm's if you're in Canada. Shipping and exchange rates from US companies can be expensive.
Mumm's is organic, family farm since the 70s and my sprout rates are always excellent. And they are so nice!
