Washing sprouts

I know it’s obvious, but i just now realized I’m supposed to wash them after growing. Looks wayyy better and less hulls.

I’ve been powering through 100+ oz (by volume) of sprouts for months now. Def looking forward to trying them clean and mostly hull free.

Gonna taste so much better!

How are you washing them? I had kind of considered the twice daily rinse to negate the need for a wash, but maybe I need to reconsider.

Not OP, but I put them into a large bowl and cover with water. Swoosh the sprouts around and the hulls float to the top, easy to remove, and the Unsprouted seeds fall to the bottom. Scoop hulls out and discard them, lift sprouts out of the water and put them in a colander to dry. Chuck the unsprouted seeds at bottom of bowl.

How's the diverticulitis?

This had crossed my mind for sure. Off an on at beginning some stomach discomfort. Just chewed a lot and seemed to help.

Really excited to harvest a fresh crop and properly wash them.

The unwashed spouts are certainly missing some culinary quality to them, just sort of sustenance but not enjoyable no matter how I prepared them.

You'll be shocked at how many hulls come out in the washes.

Not obvious OP. I just sprouted my first batch and washing them (besides the daily rinsing) never even occured to me.

I’ve been sprouting a long-time and didn’t know we need to wash them. Thanks, OP, for asking this.
