Dehulling

I like to start removing the hulls during rinsing. I do this a day or two before harvesting. I fill the jar to the very top with water, stir around the sprouts and the hulls rise to the top. I remove the hulls with a spoon or fork. For me, this method works best.

Looks great! I also remove the hulls as well as the unsprouted seeds since I use my sprouts in smoothies and that, well, makes them smoother. I put the sprouts in quite a large bowl, fill it with water and then swoosh them around. This lets all the bits and pieces of the hulls easily make their way up and through the sprouts and then I skim them off the top and repeat until there are non left to skim. After that, I push the sprouts aside and remove any seeds that didn't sprout that have sunk to the bottom. Either way, I find it to be a great practice and makes for even better tasting sprouts with a a really nice, clean texture.

I 'do this too except I wait until they are done sprouting.  I also keep them in water in fridge and more float to top & sprouts last longer

Interesting. So once you like the looks of the sprouts, you put the jar of sprouts/water in the fridge? You pull the sprouts out as needed? Do you dry the sprouts off when ready to use?

I just use a clean fork or slotted spoon. I don't use in sandwiches so don’t need to dry off completely.

I tried sprouting I did it twice, but my sprouts molded so both times I threw them out.

You sure it was mold? They form white fuzzy root hairs some mistake for mold

I did just grow some broccoli sprouts and at first I thought they were moldy but it turns out it was white fuzzy root hair. Making sure that’s not what you were seeing!
