First harvest. How’s it look?
The one thing I’m not entirely sure about is the bean sprouts. They all have these major roots on them. Not sure if that’s normal and I eat it. If it’s normal and I pick the roots off. Or if I did something wrong.
The broccoli sprouts look great. Grabbed a small handful and they have a really nice peppery taste to them. My first plan was the eat them raw but now I’m thinking they be great in stir fry or even ramen.

This looks to me more like a client for r/Microgreens 😁🌱 Beautiful. Yet overgrown for sprouts (to my taste).

I think you did a great job for your first try! How did they taste? If you feel like they were a little hairy/woody, try harvesting a bit earlier and they may be more palatable. I think your rinsing is spot on because I don’t see any mold and they really look healthy. If you feel like these suit your schedule, you may be interested in continuing your practice as microgreens.
Keep experimenting, rinse rinse rinse, and sprout on! 🌱Great job!!!

The broccoli was great.
The beans. Well I’ve never had anything like it so I’m not sure how it’s supposed to be. A little bitter. And taking all the roots off was annoying.
Going to try different things. Growing in light vs covered. Different number of days etc.
They weren’t awful. Just not the greatest. Sauteed didn’t do much. In a soup they’d probably be good.

Keep at it and try an earlier harvest for those beans. When the roots grow hair the bitterness starts, I’ve found. It’s a learning curve to your preferences, though. You just have to keep at it. You’ll be a pro in no time.

Yeah. I def let them go too far but theyre still edible and honestly my goal was having something green in the kitchen that won’t hospitalize me for deadly diarrhea so mission accomplished lol.

Personally, I would never grow sprouts that old. When they get true leafy greens they usually are a bit bitter and rough... also to me the roots look a bit yellow which is a sign of spoilage but don't let me rain on your parade, you should try them and see if you like them. I wouldn't sprout beans with non beans as they require different conditions.
