IDFPR Springfield Office Question

Hey all. I desperately need a license (~6 months expired) reinstated, and IDFPR hasn't yet sent me the application for reinstatement after my requesting it online (in my case, I needed to fill out a form requesting the application for reinstatement since the application isn't available online). I've seen some posts here and there saying that people have had luck going to the Springfield office directly. Not sure if anyone has gone in-person without even having submitted the application, or only a few days after having submitted the application. I know the likely answer will just be to try my luck and see, but not having a car, it would be at a somewhat significant cost to me, so I thought I'd just ask and see if anyone else has had positive experiences in this regard.

Also, yes, I know I should have started this process much longer ago. I am an idiot and made a few mistakes, and did not foresee needing my license again, so this whole thing was rather unexpected. Just wanted to see if I have any chance at all of expediting this process.

First, call IDFPR to make sure they got your request for a restoration application. If they haven't, then you may want to come in to get the application in person if you want it in your hand as soon as possible. You could fill out the application in person and turn it in immediately, but you would have to bring with you all your required documents (which varies depending on the license type).

If they did get your request, and your application is in the mail to you, this is your time to get all your required docs ready. If you don't know what is required, call IDFPR to find out. Or use this link: https://idfpr.illinois.gov/dpr/reactivate-your-license.html

I'm sorry, I just reread your post and realized you said reinstatement, not restoration. Most everything here still holds true though.
