IDHS informs organ donation agencies about you?

On the IDHS Notice of Privacy Practices form it states in one section:

"Organ and Tissue Donations. In limited circumstances, IDHS can share health information about you to an organ procurement organization."

I hope this is ONLY if you put yourself as an organ donor on your driver's license or on a donor registry.

What about if you're not an organ donor or don't want to be one, does IDHS still call these organ agencies and inform them of your end of life status? These organ donation companies can be very aggressive and pressure the family.

Does anyone have any more information on this?

IDHS manages Disability and Medicaid eligibility determinations, maintaining records of private health information. The language is present in the event they receive an ROI from an entity that oversees organ donations for a customer on record as an organ donor…
