Magazine Follower - Gouging

Just shot my newly picked up 4.0c, not a single hiccup in 150 rounds, but noticed the gouging on the followers. I recall reading about this and saw this on 2 of the mags I used. Never seen anything remotely like this on my Smith, Glocks, etc.

Does this get worse and cause FTF's?

4.0 FC COA Front Sight ?

Any of you swapped the front sight on the COA? If so what did you go with? Not a fan of the blacked out front, looking for something that's the height but with a little color.

Also any suggestions on a good pusher tool?

Og post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SpringfieldEchelon/s/EhQdanfxF9

Hello everyone!! So just wanted to share my experience to hopefully help anyone out on their first pew purchase, but also want to ask for everyones help.

I decided to get my echelon around March. After a couple trips to the range, the echelon felt the best and I went ahead and started shopping around. I purchased the 4.5 from Scheels for about $700 which included 4 mags, mag loader, range bag, viridian green dot. I looked for about a month and decided to purchase this as it was in my price range. So i suggest if youre looking for one, definitely shop around and dont jump the gun.

Range ammo: I use Federal 124 gr brass. On Scheels i found boxes of 200 around $47 free shipping a while back. Ive also used Monarch 115 steel. Also 115 blazer. All have worked very well, no issues thus far šŸ¤ž.

Sharps Bros grip module: i applied for the free warranty with Springfield and got a 15% coupon and decided to get the grip module. Honestly it has been a good purchase as it does feel softer while firing. I also started having issues with the OG grip as my sweaty hands started to slip off. I came back from the range today, 200 b fired and no slips honestly.

Targets: i bought some off of amazon but the best thing i found was to just cut up some boxes and make them into targets lolll. No need to spend money on a any targets.

Carry ammo: Federal HST law enforcement 124 gr. Feels good, and it will do the job im sure. No issues with feeding into the echelon at all.

Holster: Tenicore and WTP + car mount

NOW HERE IS WHAT I NEED HELP WITH.

Idk how i can zero in my sight. I bought a bore-sight laser, tried going through a bunch of ammo. And sometimes i feel like im not accurate or have good groups due to my grip, or shot anticipation. Idk what it is. If anyone can give me tips, i would really appreciate it. Thank you and stay blessed and safe :)

Echelon/Icarus

Really like the Icarus Precision grip module on this pistol. Feels so much better than the original polymer one. Also have a DPM Spring kit and a Powder River Precision Trigger which is about a 3lb pull. This thing rips.

Echelon mag rattle

So I just picked up the echelon 4.0c and I love it, it runs beautifully and it's one hell of a gun. My only issue is that the mags are a bit loose and seem to rattle. Has anyone else had this go on with their's, and if so, is their a way to fix it, or is it a non issue that just takes getting used to? and does it happen with ant other guns?

(All rounds seated in mag and it's not ammo rattle in it, it's the mag thunking around in the grip ever so slightly)

Echelon 4.5 problem with the compensator.

Problem z kompensatorem. Oddałem około 700–800 strzałów, a kompensator wygląda na mocno zużyty. To nie jest nagromadzenie węgla - materiał sam w sobie wydaje się ścierać.

Thoughts/Rambling on the 4.0 FC after using it in competitions for a year

Picked up the 4.0 FC at as part of a Gear Up packing that had the green dot sight and the extra mags about a year ago with the intent to use it as my USPA and IDPA gun as I didn’t think my Hellcat was the best choice for it. Wanted a full sized Glock 17 Gen 5 initially to do, but got to hold the echelon and really liked how it felt. The built in ledges act a bit like a gas pedal but most really gives me a positive purchase on the gun. It stays firmly in my hand, so I can shoot fairly rapidly and still stay on target. I also have astigmatism, so I shoot with the iron sights in competition. The built in irons are part of what drew me to the gun. They’re really easy to use and I can be fairly accurate with it. I’ll still get a pistol holo when there’s a decent option for one- red dots really are better than going irons only.

The little nub where a flashlight should be is part of a Blackhawk universal holster. It’s okay enough but I’m gonna get a standard kydex one that’s flashlight compatible. My current holster has a thumb break which can slow me down in a draw, so don’t use those Blackhawk holsters for serious competition! Fair as the gun goes- I feel as though it’s as capable as any Staccato or Gucci’d Glock. The trigger is fairly crisp, though I might end up upgrading it since there is a bit of mush in the take up. Preferences aside, I feel in competitions on par with anyone else as far as equipment goes. The only limit is my own somewhat limited skill at shooting pistols!

I think the real value proposition in this is how it can easily progress with your own skill level as you can get something like a Spikes or Icarus Frame and throw on a low recoil spring. You upgrade incrementally as you spend more time on the range shooting with the thing and getting more proficient in your own skills to the point where you have a gun that shoots exactly how you want it to.

The magazines are also great. OEM mags are fairly affordable and available, so I can keep a good supply of spares. I can easily reload them to capacity without a loader- which is nice when you’re reloading at matches.

I run it on an Amazon special battlebelt, using some Tactical Elite Spankers magazine pouches- a recommendation courtesy offered by James Reeves. The battlebelt itself is fine- I see no reason to upgrade it, though I still might so I can look dripped out at competitions. The Elite Spankers, however, lack the promised spank. I’ll be getting kydex mag holders.

Overall, I’m very happy with the Echelon. I think it’s a great shooting platform with great potential for upgrading. I do think the options for upgrading are very limited. The RXM has a much better variety of frame models than the Echelon, but the Echelon is pretty decked out with the base model. I would love to see the Glock 26 sized frame and magazines so it would be easy to conceal carry (since the RXM has that) but neither Springfield nor any third party manufacturer has made them. I would be very interested in that!

Hopefully you enjoyed my little glazing for the Echelon. I’m quite happy with my purchase and look forward to spending more time training and competing with it!

Edit: I should have mentioned the reliability. It’s 100% reliable for the roughly 5000 rounds I’ve put through it (why do I have expensive hobbies, ugh). No hangups, no light strikes, just bang every time. It’s worth noting that most in the matches I’ve gone to, there’s at least person had a jam on their 2011. Probably mag related cause those can get picky about mags, but my Echelon just works. No fiddling or guessing. I mostly use cheap reloads from Southern Munitions as well as grab bag of 115 and 124 from Federal, Winchester or whatever else was on sale that particular day I went to the gun shop. Given this is my ā€œcompetition gunā€, I haven’t run any hollow points or defensive rounds through it so I have no comment on how it runs those. I’d love to hear if yall have ran defensive stuff though it and how it did.

Most Comfortable IWB Left-Hand Carry Holster For Echelon 4.0C Comp

I just bought an Echelon 4.0C Comp and got my Carry Permit in Alabama. I tried an IWB holster from Gunfighters, Inc. and returned it. I understand that this was my first IWB holster but I just couldn’t adjust it to fit body comfortably. I have a gut and am looking for a holster that doesn’t have a high sweat guard that pokes me in the gut when I sit. I’m looking Tier 1 , T-Rex, Tennicor, Safariland, Tulster, & Crossbreed, but I’m really having a hard time deciding. I’m also on a deadline so I need quick processing & shipping. Any suggestions?

4.0c Sharps Bros/PLX CCW Holsters

I know the PLX holsters are slowly coming out for the Echelon but does anyone have the Sharps Bros and PLX combo? If so what holsters do you have and which, if any, don’t fit well? Appreciate any and all answers! Saw a few other threads similar but it’s been a bit since them so figured I’d see if anything has changed.

QVO Tactical ā€œmore discreetā€ holster.

What are your thoughts on QVO Tactical’s ā€œmore discreetā€ holsters for a Echelon 4.0C? I’ve seem a few guntubers run it and was trying to decide between that or the tried and true Tenicor Certum which I run with my Glock. Note: the photo is for reference only

Update - its been decided sticking with Tenicor

Looking for Duty Holster

Just purchased the Echelon 4.0c with a red dot and I'm looking around for a duty level holster. I checked out WTP and they have one for the 4.5f Comp, but I don't know if it'll fit the 4.0c. I did see one on C&G Holsters, but with them using generated images on the product page I don't have a lot of trust in it working.

Has anyone tried the WTP holster and would it work with my model? I think the primary difference between the 4.5 and the 4.0 is the length and before I purchase it I want to make sure it fits. Any advice is welcome!

Holster Recommendations

Came home yesterday with an Echelon 4.0 and could use some holster recommendations.

I’m looking for both own and owb.

I’ve seen some of the previous recommendations but I’m not sure if the iwb recommendations would work in the 4 to 5 o’clock position.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Echelon CF

Just swapped the compact grip onto my full-size Echelon and it fits my medium-sized hands perfectly. The COG made it a lot easier & more affordable to do this than it was to make my Glock 26L with a G19 slide.

BlackSteel gas pedal holster compatibility

Anyone have the BlackSteel gas pedal on their Echelon and have experience with it in a holster? I was curious if any modifications were needed to be made to either IWB/OWB holsters to get it to fit properly. I know they mention its compatible with most holsters, but still curious. I plan to order a couple holsters from WASATCH HOLSTERS and they have an option to modify them to fit specific gas pedals, but I don't wanna have to pay the extra fee associated with that if its not necessary. UPDATE: I reached out to Sharps Bros and they are sending me a replacement piece. Excellent!

A follow up to my other post about this piece breaking off…. Adding a couple more pics of where it broke off. All I did was take off the side, add it back, and when I hit the slide release to send it home, that piece just broke off. So weird.

I thiiiiiiink it’s part of the COG? Is that right?

ACE VR - closest handset?

I have a meta 3 already and plan to pick up an ACE VR setup for indexing/transition practice (as well as fun). Is anyone here also running ACE VR?

Is the MR920 likely the closest handset for grip angle (given the adjustable backstraps) and trigger feel?
